i love this kinda stuff! cab calloway and especially louis jordan. i have the 4cd Slim Gaillard box set. i used to play "laughing in rhythm", "the flat foot floogie" and "potatoe chips" [sic.] in a band. and of course, there's "Matzoh Balls"!

I don't think I knew that Slim played piano also. Man had talented fingers. And was funny to boot.
