Brilliant insight Alex, specifically with respect to Teixeira being not only better than Tino, but also "the best Yankee 1B since Mattingly!" I couldn't have said that better myself! Considering Tino has played a role in Mark's transition to playing for the Yanks, it proves what character and professionalism Tino still has however...

I would have liked there to have been something mentioned about just how insignificant that consecutive errorless game record is though, because well, it is. Due to the homerism involved with "official scoring" from park to park, I really wouldn't place so much value on that record. After all, neither the '92 Cardinals (third place in the NL East) nor the '06 Red Sox (third place AL East) won anything during those years.

Nevertheless, it is vital for any title hopes to include fundamentally sound and relatively mistake free baseball to be played more often than not.

Clearly your brilliance must be because of your advanced age and maturity these days!

Alex did say the streak was fluky (building off a conversation he and I had this morning about it and about such things as Swisher/Abreu and Teixeira).

[2] Hey pop! How's the bundle of joy doing?

You probably missed it, but I posted recently that if I see one more "rainbow" from Swisher in the OF, I'm re"nick"naming him "Spanky McSkittles!"
