  1. The only Gasoline Alley strips I liked were the ones like these where Uncle Walt and Skeezix were taking a walk through wild environs and casually critiquing them like they were browsing an art gallery. It was like me and my Uncle Dave walking to the corner store. Sadly, Gasoline Alley today is nothing like these old-old strips; extremely slowwwwww story development and soooooooo simple-minded that it’s insulting to the eyes. An unfortunate example of a dinosaur that has long outlived it’s productivity and usefulness in the funny pages. I blame the syndicate…

[1] I’m glad Peanuts ended when Schultz died. Having someone take over your personal work just doesn’t seem to work out right. The nature of a strip is going to change.

Was there no game thread? I saw Sliced’s comment in the Taster’s Cherce thread, but nobody else said anything.
Encouraging game today, from CC and A-Rod (and Mo, but yes, I’m planning on taking that for granted 98% of the time and marveling only at 2%). I understand Mitre started well in the second game, but I’ve been paying attention to basketball.
