Stanley Woodward would not approve, but that’s okay…I can’t resist.
“I remember in the old park in the World Series, (Braves manager) Bobby Cox told me to pinch-hit against him. I said, ‘Pack it in. We’re going to be seeing a celebration. I ain’t going to get a hit,'” Guillen said. “And I know what’s coming. Everybody knows what’s coming.”
Guillen doesn’t believe there will ever be another closer like Rivera.
“There is nobody better than this guy. Nobody. Not Goose (Gossage), not (Lee) Smith, not (Trevor) Hoffman,” Guillen said. “That mold was made in Panama and they threw it in the ocean. They don’t make a closer like that ever (again). Nobody in the history of baseball is going to be like this guy, ever.”
Damn right, Ozzie.
I really like Ozzie. I think he's a good-to-great manager, and he's amazingly entertaining. The media seems to love him in the way I imagine they loved Stengel. Guillen is fun to watch, and its fun to occasionally read his quotes and listen to his press conferences. And Twitter was clearly invented for him.
However, I'm glad he's not the Yankees' manager. I think he would drive me crazy if he was here every day.
Amen. Praise be to Mo.
Somebody congratulate Captain Obvious on his astute observation.

THIS
You just KNOW some jackass BBWAA voter is gonna leave Mo off his 1st HOF ballot.
[5] Just as some put Mark McGuire on. We can't win them all.
...say word!
Gotta hand it to Ozzie. He is so on point when it comes to Mo'. We will NEVER see the likes of a closer like him again in our life time.
5) You know, unless something odd happens, I actually think he'll get in unanimously. Just a hunch.
