Daikon is so good and so healthy, a staple in Japan. But I have never had it sweet. Boiled in a salty or soy broth, yes. Pickled yet. But never sweet. Interesting.

BTW, if a girl has shapeless lower legs in Japan (thick ankles) she is said to have "Daikon Ashi" or daikon legs.

[2) I remember a few years back that one of he japanese figure skaters was described as having Daikon Legs, in comparison to the other "nice legs" Japanese skater.

So a redhead (presumably Ainu) Japanese with shapeless legs could be described as a Carrot-Top Daikon?
