My pal's wife has made two rhubarb pies in the past two weeks. Rhubarb!
This here was a rhubarb compote with a mascarpone mousse, something called brachetto syrup and crushed amaretti cookies on top.
Man was it good.
1) Did she pair the rhubarb with anything?
 My oldest sister used to pair hers with a mean left hook...
 It was straight rhubarb pie, I think from a Cook's Illustrated recipe. The piece I had on Mother's Day was paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but I'm not sure if that's what you are talking about.
