Alex, you know the Nets are gonna play that beat at all their home games. And I can't think of any reason why they shouldn't besides ruining a classic by associating it with consistent losing.

Teixeira has been diagnoses with nerve damage to his larynx, which they say is the cause of the cough that's been bothering him. I can't find an explanation of how nerve damage to a larynx can cause inflammation of bronchial passages. Any otolaryngologists in the house? It will be treated with meds and shouldn't affect his playing. He seems happy to know what the problem is.

Joba is supposed to throw soon, and D-Rob could pitch a rehab game today.

Hey, the game started! How come nobody told me???

4 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 6:35 pm

Finally, baseball.

[2] We have to keep Mark away from the karaoke machine.

5 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 6:38 pm

[4] Also the railing of the stands, apparently.

The Rays' D giveth, and the Rays' D taketh away.

Red Sox pummeling Brian Matusz.

9 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:03 pm

Bunting a 97 mph fastball is no easy task.

10 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:05 pm

Good lord.

11 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:07 pm

Cue the circus music!

12 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:08 pm

Ha!

13 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:10 pm

Well, each team has a 'lucky' run now.

14 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:10 pm

I'll take it.

15 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:20 pm

Apparently it's contagious.

16 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:20 pm

Well that's no good. : /

17 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:22 pm

Unbelievable.

18 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:22 pm

Thanks, Alex. grumblegrumblegrumble...

19 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:23 pm

Yeah, it's a shame the Curtis Gunderson didn't homer.

20 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:24 pm

Hurry back Brett.

21 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:28 pm

Both runs this inning unearned. :-(

22 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:42 pm

CC's really pitching well. This would be a great game if not for... Rodrigue5.

23 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:43 pm

Seeeing these chumps get any hits off the Big Fella after watching them scuffle for 2 games is frustrating. Ah, baseball....

24 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:44 pm

Jose Lobaton?

25 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:46 pm

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

26 RIYank   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:46 pm

Wow.
[20] What you said.

27 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:47 pm

Sigh. Heal, Brett.

28 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:49 pm

[26] I'll never take him for granted.

29 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:50 pm

Jayson Nix < Bern Nix... sigh...

30 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 7:56 pm

I remember the ads about that dog bite.

31 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:09 pm

Cone said he "would not tour George Washington but he would find George's Irish Bar. Cone cracks me up. : )

32 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:11 pm

[31] Whoops. I forgot an end quote in there. Bar." Now I feel better.
Alright, score some runs.

33 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:17 pm

Time to get back in it.

34 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:19 pm

I'll take a single. But when was the last bases clearing double the Yankees had?

35 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:23 pm

Show time! Full count.

36 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:24 pm

Cano on deck.

37 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:25 pm

Damn!

38 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:25 pm

Shit. C'mon, Robbie!

39 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:26 pm

Shit and fuck. But great effort by Alex there. Those boo birds need to shut the fuck up and appreciate what a great ab that was.

40 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:26 pm

Robbie, whadda ya swinging at?

41 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:27 pm

Missed his pitch. Fuck.

42 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:27 pm

Now, here comes the off speed nastiness.

43 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:29 pm

This will be Price's final inning. But will the Yanks have anything to show for it?

44 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:29 pm

But nobody is booing now? Right, okay.

45 rbj   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:29 pm

Fuck

46 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:30 pm

Alex's ab was impressive. I'm shocked, though, that he fouled off about 5 of those curveballs ans swung through that last one. Fuck! And now a harmless 4-3.

47 Sliced Bread   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:31 pm

Gotta tip yer cap to Price there.
Damn.

48 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:39 pm

47) Beautiful job. Cano had the one fat pitch to hit and he fouled it off. Great performance by Price.

49 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:42 pm

Meanwhile, LeBron is going crazy in Boston..can he keep it up in the second half?

50 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:45 pm

49) Sure he can. He needed a monster game. Despite the naysayers I expected nothing less from him tonight.

51 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:45 pm

Man, Davis throws cheddar too.

52 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:49 pm

30 first half points by Lebron ties most first half points in NBA history. He doesn't need to score 50. Needs Wade to pick up some slack. Still, Heat by 12 at the break. I'd be shocked if the Celtics win this series.

53 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:54 pm

[52] LeBron is incredible. Shame he'll take the brunt of it shoudl they lose, Wade has really been the one not to show up at times.

I hate the Celtics but man, Rajon Rondo is a fun player to watch.

54 ms october   ~  Jun 7, 2012 8:58 pm

Just checking in during half time. Lebron off to a great start.
Looks like the yanks made price work but have little to show.
Are we still pretending that stewart is not cc's personal catcher?

55 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:04 pm

Oi.

56 OldYanksFan   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:19 pm

Thiose 2 doubles to LF are both caught to Brett. The little guy is really valuable.

57 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:27 pm

C'mon, Swish!

58 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:28 pm

Holy Shit! A 2 out rbi.

59 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:29 pm

Oh, damn it, 5-2?

Wtf happened to CC?

60 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:34 pm

[59] An error by Alex, a crap play in left by Nix, and CC missing his spot one too many times.

61 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:42 pm

A literal boot by Swish. Ugh.

62 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:44 pm

[60] Sigh.

63 OldYanksFan   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:50 pm

Why didn't Gerrit Cole sign with us? He ended up going #1 last year. I hope he enjoys Pittsburg more than he would have NY.

64 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 7, 2012 9:52 pm

This should have been a better game.

65 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 7, 2012 10:05 pm

53) Bron Bron with 45 points (19-26), 15 boards, 5 dimes. Incredible performance. And I give the Celts ZERO chance of winning game 7.
