The Yankees have acquired Ichiro Suzuki from the Mariners in exchange for minor league pitchers D.J. Mitchell and Danny Farquhar, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network (on Twitter).
If the idea of Ichiro in the lineup, at the Stadium, vs Boston this weekend doesn't get you a little excited just as a fan...well then start watching MLS or something
Woke to to hear this from my daughter with the news conference and his watery eyes and graying temples behind her on the TV,"The Yankees got Ichiro," and just like hearing about a death, my first reaction was denial, "No way!" Even though I could see the TV.
Wow.
Hope he has something left in the tank. Maybe he'll start hitting homers. Always, said he could if he wanted too. He's got the stadium for it (when he gets "home"). That sounds strange.
[13] Does it mean that NHK will stop telecasting Mariners vs. the Royals in September, when the Yanks are playing the Redsox?
I sure hope so.
I wonder how the old man (Sakagami) feels. He's been a Meriners fan since they got Ichiro. Watches every sorry-ass game. Hey maybe now I can go next door and get the Yanks on HD!

WOW.
can it be?
Wow.
From what I've herd, he is a free agent after the season.
So he might just go back the M's.
Batting 9th against his old team, in his old ballpark tonight. That will be a helluva'n at bat,
With a clubhouse of big egos (meant in a good way) he should thrive for the remainder of the year. Let the fun begin.

The thought of the corpse of Ichiro! in the lineup does not get me excited much at all. He'll be better Wise, I guess. Wow.
A great deal. Really, what do the Yankees possibly lose here? Ichiro promises to be energized, as will be the lineup. Can't wait!
[7] Hey now, only a corpse can have a dead cat bounce!
Seriously, though, I might just have to sign up for MLB.tv to watch tonight's game.

[10] I'll wait until tomorrow when I get home. Got a morning flight, going from Boston to Toledo via Chicago. Just give me a parachute.
I don't care if he's done. Ichiro! in pinstripes is beautiful.
[7] Don't be a sourpuss!
[13] I think it was all the kraut he ate over in Germany!
=)

* or August, I can't remember
[16] Err, Kansas City ...
Nobody?
Uh, not so hot, Alex.
Once again, I am reminded of the fact that Raul Ibanez reminds me of Leon from Blade Runner ...
Hey, Nostra, get home soon and keep me company ... all I've got now is crickets!
CRICKETS!!!
ICHI ROLLS!
