Palantir!

2 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 12:18 pm

i read that it's possible e$#% decides to put our opening game on sunday night. that would then leave TWO days off before game 2...

in june, we're out in LA to play the hate-los, then return to NY to host the mattingly's. they seem to be the only NL team we play twice...

not as many interleague games as i was thinking. that's kinda cool.

it still bothers me that when a player gets traded mid-season to a different league, they start his stats over. also, pitchers hitting is really dumb. just adapt the DH throughout the entire league already...

rays-o's scoreless right now.

a's-halos later this afternoon.

IF hughues throws a gem tonite, he could be a 15-game winner with an ERA under 4.00. if...

my palantir says i'll be the only commenter on this thread!

[RI is now going to break my palantir...]

5 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 12:40 pm

Why only two games against the Dodgers? Odd.

6 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 12:43 pm

Rays up, 1-0 in the 4th...

7 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 12:53 pm

[5] yeah, both series with them are 2 games apiece. ditto with the Mutts.

[6] boids just toying and setting up a walk-off 1-run victory.

oh, and you owe me a palantir. put it on RI's tab! ; )

8 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 1:21 pm

Top 6th, still 1-0.

9 Jon DeRosa   ~  Sep 13, 2012 1:23 pm

[5] They are giving the yanks 4 vs the mets and dodgers. there isn't room in the new schedule for 6 games against one interleague team.

Guess we have to root for Tampa.

11 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 1:55 pm

i don't know. i think tampa would be tougher in the playoffs. let the O's beat them today, push them a game further back, then lose it on their long, upcoming road trip.

we can help our own matters by beating the shit sox tonight and taking care of tampon at home this weekend.

i'm rooting for the showalter's today!

12 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:00 pm

Rays still up 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh but the O's have runners on first and second with just one out...here they come again.

13 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:01 pm

and there it is...

2-1 Oreo's

14 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:08 pm

Rays are sunk...until they come to the Bronx, of course.

15 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:09 pm

farns...

16 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:12 pm

ok guys, i'm out. wrapping up finals week at the music college. i have 20 (TWENTY!) more performance exams to give over the next 8 hours. and i'm forgoing taking cold medicine, 'coz it makes me dizzier than i already am. weh!

GO BANTER! GO YANKS!!!

17 monkeypants   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:12 pm

[2] I love me them hitting pitchers.

18 monkeypants   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:14 pm

Cripes, now EIGHT games against the Mets.

I remember the older, simpler days, when teams in the same division all played the same number of games against the same opponents. As it should be.

19 thelarmis   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:19 pm

[17] you can have 'em!

[18] no, i think it's just 4 for the whole season - 2 home, 2 'away'. all 4 in a row, end of may.

20 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:21 pm

Whadda ya say, Rays tied it up.

21 monkeypants   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:26 pm

[19] 2 home, 2 'away'. all 4 in a row, end of may.

Ah, I misread the notes. Well, that's better, anyway. If only they would get rid of the stupid special death rival games so that each team in the same division could play the same opponents the same number of times.

22 garydsimms   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:29 pm

[18] - I've been sayin' for years that the only logical way ahead is expansion by 2 teams. 2 16 team leagues, each with 4 division of 4 teams and the WINNERS go on (no wild card). Balanced schedule within the league, everybody plays their own division the same number of games, everybody plays the teams in the other divisions the same number of times. (If there MUST be interleague play, it needs to be balanced too). I leave it to the math majors to figure out the details..

23 garydsimms   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:30 pm

Go Zobrist. Tampa ties it in top of the 8th.

24 garydsimms   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:43 pm

All tied up in the top of the 9th

Good ole Booby Valetine.
The guy NEVER misses a chance to put in a dig.

"Just for the record, if you're going to bring up Youk, I'm going to say this: What was he hitting when he left here -- .238? And when he left here, everybody said he was hitting .238 because I really affected him. I was the cause. I was the root cause of his not performing well. Since he's been with Chicago, he's hitting .238. ... I just want to make it clear that the cause of him hitting .238 was not me."

O's getting ready to break hearts again...

27 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:48 pm

25) Do you have a link for that quote?

29 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:53 pm

No faith in the Rays scoring this run with two out...

30 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 2:55 pm

Did I say no faith? Yeah, I won't have any faith in Tampa scoring runs until they arrive in the Bronx tomorrow.

31 garydsimms   ~  Sep 13, 2012 3:15 pm

Is it heartbreak time again? Lango would have hit a homer against the Yanks.

32 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 13, 2012 3:19 pm

I'm guessing this is revenge for hard feelings over the Yankees cutting ties with Wang:

33 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 13, 2012 3:24 pm

C'mon Rays!

34 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 13, 2012 4:53 pm

- Heyman: Soriano likely to opt out -
ESPECIALLY considering the Yankees 2014 payroll plays, they have to let Sori walk if he wants, RIGHT?

And FUCK! The O's walk off in 14.
