I was driving with my friend's son who was about 7 at the time. He was telling me that his teacher asked the class if they could find a word that ended with 'ch'. He told me that he immediately raised his hand. Upon being called on, he enthusiastically screamed out, sonofabitch. Needless to say, I laughed. Apparently, the teacher did too. And then, she called his folks.
I'm partial to quarantine, pollyanna, exotic, zenith, nonplussed. Hornswoggle is a good one. No way is diphthong a winner. I'm never comfortable saying it.
