Game delayed for the moment. No ETA just yet.

2 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:15 pm

:(
Back to slumber for a bit then, holiday here today.

3 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:25 pm

Meanwhile Nats take a slim lead in the 8th

4 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:26 pm

This game will be played, can't claim to be a weather expert, but looking at the radar map of Balto, the night should be clear after 8.

Wasn't that A's-Tigers game exciting? The last three inning were something. It shows that even if the A's bullpen has been perfect lately, all bets are off in the PS.

[2] Holiday here tomorrow too. Native Americans will not be celebrating.

5 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:29 pm

I'm fairly calm and relaxed right now.

If Lew Ford in any way causes the Yankees to lose this game, I'm taking a four iron to the wall

6 OsRavan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:33 pm

hmm is this a weather delay or is it a t.v delay?

7 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:36 pm

Tyler Freaking Clippard?!

8 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:37 pm

[7] And Phil Coke earlier in the day.

See, Yankees can develop middle relievers.

9 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:48 pm

(4) Haha, no debates about the merit of today's holiday here. It's 'Sports Day''! Seriously..it's Sports Day here, national holiday.
(8) Some great LastName AllStar Relievers in this playoffs. Balfour, Albequerque, Doolittle. Will Eric Plunk come out of retirement for an inning?

10 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:50 pm

[4] Schmini Azeret - Simchat Tora ?! ; )

11 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:51 pm

Gee, each team left 10 runners on? Who do they think they are, the Yankees?

12 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:52 pm

Nats Win on 2 UnEarned runs. Lotta errors deciding games so far in this PS. Just about every game as a matter of fact.

13 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 5:53 pm

Nats win 1st ps game !!! Must say as a yankee fan for 60+ years (really) living inDC means I love the nats. Hope the 2 don't meet in the WS.

14 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:21 pm

[10] That too. Happy assembly.

15 NYYfan22   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:26 pm

psst [13] see [0]. he said nevermind the prognostications. :)

16 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:29 pm

[14] my datebook tells me tomorrow is Thanksgiving in Canada. aye?! monkeypants will have to tell us how big a deal it is...

i have a full spate of lessons to teach tomorrow. starting early and ending in enough time to make it home for the game rain delay...

17 NYYfan22   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:38 pm

worst part about this rain delay is all the kids out there that just got fuckin weathered out of the game. My kid was all pumped up cause he could most-likely watch the whole game before bedtime. Now it's just another 8pm playoff game. Poor kid.

18 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:44 pm

[17] I may not finish the game.

19 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:48 pm

any word on ETA?

20 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:57 pm

Tarp still on. Probably 15-20 minutes after the tarp comes off.

21 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 6:57 pm

Still raining pretty hard in DC area

22 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:00 pm

thanks guys. i'm debating cutting out for a bit. i need to head to my friends' house to feed his cats; it'll be a solid hour and a half round-trip...

23 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:00 pm

So much for an early Sunday night. Dag.

24 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:02 pm

[22] Wow! You're a good friend to make a 90 minute drive to feed cats.

25 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:02 pm

[22] Better now than later, if this game starts in an hour, you'll be feeding cats at 1 AM.

26 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:07 pm

8:40 first pitch.

27 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:10 pm

[25] that's like noon to me! : )

28 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:10 pm

[26] thanks, AB and well done on the Edmond Hall! i left a post there...

29 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:12 pm

Glad its an off day tomorrow ; Columbus day for some, Shmini Atzeret for members if the Tribe....

30 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:18 pm

[29] this tribesman has a very full day of work tomorrow...

31 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:20 pm

fuck. why is angel hernandez on a postseason umpiring crew? he is sooo far beyond horrific.

32 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:25 pm

GD Rain!. I blame Selig.

33 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:29 pm

If Selig didn't come up with this po system, game would NOT be played. Hope nobody gets hurt.

34 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:32 pm

Looks like its about to start. Let's. Go. Yank-ees!!!!

35 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:33 pm

How is Cal in the booth???

36 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:36 pm

[35] not good. at all.

37 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:39 pm

i'm wearing my road gray thurman munson t-shirt! : )

38 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:41 pm

Cal in the booth? Does that mean we get Posada in the booth at home?

39 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:41 pm

Go git 'em Fellas!

40 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:42 pm

So glad that the knee brace is not "a issue" - you illiterate Fox fuck

41 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:42 pm

Cap!!!

42 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:42 pm

43 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:42 pm

Way to go DJ!

44 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:43 pm

[40] yeah, the article thing pisses me off, too.

45 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:46 pm

Come around Captain!

46 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:46 pm

ICHI!!!

FUCK YEAH!!!

47 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:46 pm

Has anyone remarked on the fact that Buck Showalter is the 1st MLB manager ever to blow a 2-0 ALDS series lead?

48 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:46 pm

Ichiro"!!

49 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:47 pm

Dumb.

50 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:47 pm

NO!!!

boo. crap.

51 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:47 pm

That's a low IQ play. Especially that early in the count.

52 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:47 pm

i was hoping for a big inning there.

are they changing "A-hole"?

53 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:48 pm

2-2, does he go back to the hook?

54 OsRavan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:48 pm

[52] I thought it sounded like 'steroids' actually.

55 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:48 pm

52). No, I am

56 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:49 pm

Good pitch.

57 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:49 pm

i thought it was a strike.

really letting them off the hook...

58 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:50 pm

Eutaw street robbie!

59 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:50 pm

Disappointing.

60 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:51 pm

[54] i'm pretty deaf (for real), so clarity is a big issue for me. that chant makes sense...

[55] : )

61 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:52 pm

C'mon CC!

62 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:53 pm

[59] With CC on the mound, a picket fence on the scoreboard will be fine, but it's always better with 2.

63 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:54 pm

Glad tex is back at first

64 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:56 pm

very very nice!

65 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:56 pm

Nice.

66 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:56 pm

Like how cc is in the zone

67 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:58 pm

Damn, with a 2+ hour delay, we're all a little excited. Adult beverages are a necessity (at least for me).

68 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:59 pm

Torre used to say Game#3 was the most important game of a 5 game series. I understand why, but I wish Andy was Pitching the 'opener' at YS.

69 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:59 pm

[67] canna do. full day of teaching tomorrow. plus, i have a lot of driving to do late tonite... (cats.)

70 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 7:59 pm

Dinner done. Good 1st inning. Let's go Swish!

71 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:00 pm

OBP!

72 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:00 pm

And this seems like the best line-up for the Yankees all year.

73 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:01 pm

seriously - why boo tex? the o's were never a major player in signing him. it's not like he spurned them.

74 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:01 pm

I've been adult beveraging since about 1; skins, nats, rain, yanks

75 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:02 pm

[69] A toast to thelarmis!

76 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:03 pm

Damn, hung that one.

77 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:03 pm

Man.... missed a cherry.

78 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:04 pm

Teix missed 3 good pitches. At least no dp.

79 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:04 pm

Nice play by Reynolds.

80 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:04 pm

If I'm ARod (and maybe others) I sit on the Curveball.

81 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:05 pm

Grandy hit it hard, no shame in that, good play by Reynolds.

82 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:05 pm

Mark Reynolds. Kevin Millar's long lost asshole twin brother.

83 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:05 pm

Dang, nice snag at first.

84 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:06 pm

Russ missed one there. Shit.

85 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:07 pm

All heaters. Now comes the soft stuff, yes?

86 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:07 pm

At least the O's fans will have a use for those towels on Halloween after they cry in them.

87 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:09 pm

Another cookie. Fuck.

88 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:09 pm

Forty pitches in two innings.

89 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:09 pm

Well, hell, this here's where everybody got to, evidently!

I was wondering why nobody else was in the other thread!

=)

90 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:09 pm

[75] l'chaim! yeah, have one for me. i drank beer friday. next beer will be next friday...

seems like most of our hitters are getting just under the ball. this guy seems very hittable...

91 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:12 pm

good job.

dude's super tall...

92 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:13 pm

prolly woulda been a strike if coltrane caught it...

93 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:15 pm

siddown.

94 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:15 pm

Sit down, Reynolds! Great pitch!

95 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:15 pm

Nice pitch, but this ump is not consistent with the low strike.

96 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:17 pm

YES!

go cc!!!

97 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:17 pm

Fucking Beautiful pitching.

98 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:18 pm

Good.

99 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:19 pm

Too early to gush on CC, but it's always time for the hitting.

100 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:21 pm

I hate that fucking Mantle grave-robbing commercial.

What are you looking for Ichi?

102 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:26 pm

Ugh, ball four. Tough pitch to lay off though.

103 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:27 pm

[101] A high pitch count?

104 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:27 pm

i really feel like we're letting this guy off easy...

he's over 50 pitches, but we should have a lot more than 2 hits and 1 walk.

fucking hell.

105 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:31 pm

Oh Jesus Christ

106 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:31 pm

motherfucking bollocks.

lew fucking ford? really?!

get an easy pop-up and double play.

NOW!

107 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:34 pm

Almost pulled Robbie off the bag. Yikes!

108 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:35 pm

OK, need a K here big fella.

109 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:35 pm

Bugger fucking bullshit.

nate mclouth.

REALLY?!?!?!

113 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:36 pm

Well there's one lead given up by the ace already. Fuck!

114 garydsimms   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:36 pm

Dp helps

115 rbj   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:37 pm

We can get those runs back.

116 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:37 pm

OK boys, just like that the lead went away. And just like that you can get it back.

117 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:37 pm

I'd like to see what the Yankees-and particularly Sabathia's- percentage of allowing wretched baseball players like Lew Ford beat them is. It might be confirmation bias, but it seems way too high.

In contrast, when we put a lousy player in the lineup, he almost always seems to play like a lousy player.

118 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:38 pm

Ya think this is going to be easy? O's scored two, step by step.

Time to answer.

119 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:41 pm

Good take, Alex.

120 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:41 pm

Great AB by Arod.

121 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:43 pm

Nice walk Alex.

122 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:43 pm

Cano just seems to be swinging at everything.

123 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:44 pm

117) I think he made a decent pitch to Ford. He made the mistake to Nate.

124 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:44 pm

[122] Must be working, the guy is hitting over .600 the last two weeks.

125 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:44 pm

why keep swinging at balls?

126 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:44 pm

Got to throw him a breaking ball, now, right?

127 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:45 pm

jesus fucking h. christ.

128 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:45 pm

129 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:45 pm

Robinson crushed that, bad luck.

130 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:45 pm

131 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:45 pm

Zero strikes to Swish so far.

134 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:47 pm

I lost count of how many pitches shoulder high Cano swung at.

135 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:48 pm

[130] For a man that's unquestionably a superb athlete, A-Rod often looks almost spastic out there. I don't really know how to describe it

136 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:48 pm

I like the patient Swisher.

137 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:48 pm

Another good take. Pitch count over 70

138 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:49 pm

[134] The first few weren't *that* high, but clearly outside.

139 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:49 pm

151 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:53 pm

i hope tex didn't hurt his calf on that...

152 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:53 pm

153 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:53 pm

Yay and shit.

154 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:53 pm

jesus christ.

don't cheer that! assfucks...

155 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:53 pm

156 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:54 pm

2 big mistakes already. Ya don't usually get away with that in the PS.

157 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:54 pm

[149] dude just missed 30 games 'coz of a bad calf. he can't sprint!

[155] Yes.

A little to excited, perhaps. Damn, why am I stuck with the E@#$ radiocast...

162 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:55 pm

[158] Okay. Just curious as to what the new rules were

163 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:56 pm

[159] Exactly.

164 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 8:57 pm

[167] Yeah! He deserves a university...

170 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 9:02 pm

CC didn't seem to want to do much with Reynolds.

171 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 9:03 pm

Looks like, on a whole, ump gives inside and not outside.

[176] That's the real key.

351 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:34 pm

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

352 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:34 pm

Smoltz is excited over that one.

353 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:36 pm

There's only so many ineffective innings we can put up and hope they don't score in the bottom half.

354 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:37 pm

And whats more, we can't be far from mixing and matching.

355 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:38 pm

Grandy was owned there, he looked as lost as ever seen.

356 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:38 pm

would be cool to steal a move from their playbook and win a 1-run game in extras.

that said, i prefer to tear jim johnson apart in the 9th and win handily in regulation...

357 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:39 pm

[352] sickening.

leadoff double = doubly sickening.

[i think i'm gonna be sick...]

358 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:40 pm

Fastballs low and away.

359 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:40 pm

The nice thing about the goofy mlb.tv pickacamera feed is that it's like being at the game: no replays, no cutting to the studio, etc.

However, it was not so nice to watch that leadoff double.

360 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:41 pm

Yankees have no one to blame but themselves here. Couldn't hit a bad starter, ran themselves out of innings and looked lost against the bullpen

361 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:42 pm

CC!!!

362 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:42 pm

Or that. DAMN! 2 more!

363 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:43 pm

2 down!

364 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:43 pm

Tex!!!

365 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:47 pm

WAHOO!!!

let's win : )

366 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:47 pm

Oh, baby! Onions!

367 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:47 pm

CC earned his keep tonight

368 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:48 pm

You can't expect anything better from an Ace. That was surgical. CC did the job, can this team score one run, now?

369 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:50 pm

I really think they'll go with CC in the 9th. Then go batter to batter.

370 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:50 pm

That'll do!

371 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

COLTRANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GIANT STEPS, BABY!!!!

372 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

MARTIN GOES BOOM!!!!!

373 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

Now score about 5 more. : )

374 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

M U S C L E !

375 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

OK Boys!!!!

I leave CC in but have Sori warm.

376 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

gritner...

377 joejoejoe   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

Girardi really should have pinch run for Martin back in the...oh...nevermind.

378 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:51 pm

I guess that's why you don't PR for Martin in the 7th inning [323].

379 mhoward120   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:52 pm

(371) My Favorite Things

380 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:52 pm

Me wantee more.

381 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:52 pm

coltrane's BABIP was historically low this season. no one mentions that.

and fuck you smoltz with the "unfortunately..."

382 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:52 pm

However, surely you PR for Ibanez here.

383 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:52 pm

wait...no pinch stand there?

384 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:52 pm

No Gardner to pinch run and then play left?

385 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:53 pm

THERE YOU GO!

386 knuckles   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:53 pm

387 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:53 pm

388 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:53 pm

392 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:54 pm

393 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:54 pm

394 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:55 pm

398 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:55 pm

Swinging bunt. Does that count as a play?

399 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:56 pm

It's about time we got some luck.

400 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:56 pm

A little quiet in 'ol baltimore? With a two run lead, Soriano will pitch...

A-Rod really is a bucket of cold water.

410 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 7, 2012 10:59 pm

419 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:00 pm

Showalter should pull Johnson right now, to save him for tomorrow.

420 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:01 pm

This the most fun Ichiro has had in a long time. Re-energized, people. Unlike Arod.

421 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:01 pm

[417] Hell yes. Bend over.

422 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:01 pm

Meanwhile, on my teevee, the Reds are taking it to the Giants again.

423 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:01 pm

this is lovely.

424 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:02 pm

Isn't it so much better when we're all this happy?

425 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:02 pm

No way CC comes out for the 9th now.

426 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:02 pm

Muy bueno! Keep pouring it on. Time to crack this little illusion of invincibility for this little train that can't, team. Be the Yankee doormat you know you are. No thank you Buck!

427 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:03 pm

We really can't lose in all of this how awesome the Big Guy was tonight.

428 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:03 pm

throw Rapada for the 9th?

gets him some work and saves everyone else.

c'mon Swish, 1 more once!

429 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:04 pm

[425] It's more likely that he comes out for the 9th now than if it were a Save Situation™.

430 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:04 pm

loves it!!!

7-2

431 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:04 pm

Okay, we can save some for tomorrow now

432 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:05 pm

[425] I don't see why not. He's finally loose. : )

433 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:05 pm

How many pitches has CC thrown?

434 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:06 pm

110 pitches.

435 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:08 pm

Can't remember who asked, but now you know why we put ourselves through this.

I love the way, Smoltz or was it Cal said, it was unfortunate how that pitch stayed up for Martin to hit. Unfortunate for who? This is a national broadcast, mofo.

436 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:08 pm

[434] Hm...that's a fair amount. If he had thrown fewer, I would have been tempted to bring him out for the 9th and try to save (literally) every one else.

437 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:08 pm

Hey, look who it is!

438 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:08 pm

Hey it worked again.

439 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:09 pm

Alright Fat Man, let's finish this one off!!!

441 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:10 pm

442 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:11 pm

[424] yeah, happy is good! : )

[435] it was smoltz. i commenting on his douchebag-ness...

LET'S GO CC!! !!!

443 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:11 pm

26 down. 1 to go.

SWEEP THE LEG C.C.

444 joejoejoe   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:11 pm

Orel H. on ESPN radio now says it's not the length of your bullpen that matters, it's the thickness.

445 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:11 pm

CC is doing a man's job tonight.

446 OldYanksFan   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:12 pm

Love that Joe let CC finish it.

447 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:12 pm

Jim Johnson's ERA is:

135.00

448 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:13 pm

Fuck Lou Ford. Rats! Atta boy, CC!

449 Mattpat11   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:13 pm

452 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:13 pm

453 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:13 pm

Well, shit.

Nice 8 2/3rds.

Who's coming in?

454 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:14 pm

i just gave CC a standing "o" in my den : )

Things that sound dirty ... but aren't???

455 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:15 pm

Clap Clap CC, Clap Clap CC, Clap Clap CC. Right move taking him out, why pitch from the stretch at this point. CC just wants the team to win, does not care about the CG stat.

456 monkeypants   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:15 pm

[455] Why would he need to pitch from the stretch?

457 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:16 pm

Looks like the Alabama Hammer!

C'mon NAIL IT DOWN!

458 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:16 pm

Francesca might have to lead off tomorrow's show with his lost love Arroyo's game tonight.

459 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:16 pm

[454] doh!

how 'bout: after CC's wonderful pitching performance, i stood up in front of my computer & tv (in my den), and clapped as he walked from the mound to the dugout. i also said the words, "thank you, cc"

FUCK YOU, SMOLTZ!!! GO TO HELL.

D-Rob? okay...

460 thelarmis   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:17 pm

463 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:18 pm

We laughed, we cried, we cringed, we cursed, we laughed again, we won. Nice night. More tomorrow.

464 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 7, 2012 11:18 pm
