I might be alone with this wish, but I'm hoping the game doesn't start until about 8pm which is around when my son's spring concert ends.

Wish granted and then some. They're saying it'll be an 8:40 start.

Well, hot damn, that's perfect; I just got home from my afternoon walk.

LET'S GO YANKEES!!!

4 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 7:42 pm

Dammit, that would have been 3 bases for Gardner.

[3] Early evening constitutional, Cap'n?

I like the late starts, means the game will take me right up to lunch time here. So this Matt Harvey..real deal or media creation? Why did it take him so long to reach the majors?

6 Alex Belth   ~  May 28, 2013 7:45 pm

4) Ankiel is good out there.

7 Alex Belth   ~  May 28, 2013 7:46 pm

Yanks win if Hiroki is sharp.

8 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 7:49 pm

[5] Observe for yourself. He'll regress to the mean, but I'd say he's totally legit. His stuff certainly is.

Why did it take him so long to reach the majors?

2 years is "so long"?

[5] Yeah, I try to go walking when I get home from work everyday. Working in my favor is I get home at 3pm and I live in the hills above Laguna Beach and there's an awesome walk I take that follows a fire access road along the ridge line that follows the peaks of the hills to the highest hill in the city, called "Top of the World".

[7] Kuroda not so sharp, yet.

11 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 8:19 pm

[8] Was he a college player? I'll have to read about him, am a bit behind on my 野球 reading this season.

[9] Sounds great! My evening train ride home gives me of view of industrial seaside of Kawasaki (the ugly-New Jersey of the Tokyo metro area). :)

12 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 8:27 pm

Cano knew it, he had a cookie to hit, and fouled it off.

13 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 8:33 pm

That last slider was so filthy it deserved a XXX rating ...

14 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 8:36 pm

A SS with behind-the-bag range to his left???

That's unpossible!

15 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 8:41 pm

[14] Bah, humbug. I like my SS with some Pasta, please!

16 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 8:45 pm

Yanks have to keep working the counts to get Harvey's pitch count up. It's only getting more difficult for them.

17 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 8:48 pm

The good news, Phillies beat the Red Sox 3-1; and Papelbon got the save.

18 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:03 pm

[5] Good enough so far?

=)

19 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 9:05 pm

[18] 92mph slider on the outside corner? Ouch.

20 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:11 pm

HiroKi has really settled down.

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 28, 2013 9:17 pm

Fail.

22 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:18 pm

Fucking pathetic, Vern.

23 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 28, 2013 9:18 pm

Lyle, Lyle, he's our man. If he can't do it, nobody can!

24 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:19 pm

John Big Booty, bring me da Overbaythruster!!!

25 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 9:20 pm

Overbay!
[24] Dialogue from the new Liberace film?

26 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 9:20 pm

VW getting a little frustrating, but Overbay does it again! Big run and it seems Gardner has Harvey's number.

27 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 9:33 pm

Can't spell Gardner without D!

28 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:39 pm

[24] Heh!

Not a fan of Buckaroo Banzai, I take it?

29 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:40 pm

Seriously Tejada, what the hell were you bitching about, you'd been out for seconds before you even got your hand to the bag ...

30 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 9:41 pm

After Cano's error (he is human), a great defensive inning. Brignac had the bag blocked, and Tajada only touched the base after Brignac was heading to the dugout. Why did the ump call him safe initially? And Gardner's catch...

31 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 9:43 pm

[28] D'oh! Completely blanked on that..for reasons totally lost to me know, as a kid I always confused Turk 182, THX 1138 and Buckaroo Banzai..maybe time to watch all three again?

32 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 9:49 pm

[31] Big Boo-TAY, Big Boo-TAY!!!

33 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 10:06 pm

Let's face it; with this line-up we can only expect the score scooter and depend on the pitcher's toll booth for the wins.

34 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 10:15 pm

Ooof, Ike's getting KILLED by Mets fans ...

35 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 10:20 pm

[34] He must go down to the minors or he'll be permanently damaged and finished as a player.

36 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 10:25 pm

IchiGO!!!

37 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 10:28 pm

IchiNO!!!

38 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 10:35 pm

Well, poo.

No for Mo.

39 cult of basebaal   ~  May 28, 2013 10:36 pm

That's a load of bollocks.

Fugh.

40 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 10:37 pm

No words. Mo's allowed to screw up 5 different ways once in a while. Mets fans get a little joy.

Hiroki pitched a great game.

41 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 10:37 pm

Wait, I just got back. Mo blew it to the Mets??! WTF happeend??

42 JeremyM   ~  May 28, 2013 10:38 pm

Mo had nothing. Always painful when it happens to him. And Stewart is an absolutely awful catcher.

43 Start Spreading the News   ~  May 28, 2013 10:38 pm

Crap. Tuned into to see the bottom of the 9th and saw the worst part of the game. Mo didn't look good. Pitches were up. Location was off. And he also didn't backup the catcher on the throw home. Rare physical and mental mistakes by Mo.

44 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 10:43 pm

[41] Missing a Mo appearance? No soup for you. But, a double down the line in the stands by Murphy , a single by Wright that scored Murphy, and Mo didn't back up the throw as it got away from Stewart (he kind of stood around on the mound looking flummoxed), so Wright moved to second. A single by Duda scores Wright. Game over in 9 pitches by Mo.

Yanks lose three in a row first time this year, and the last team to do it this year.

45 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 28, 2013 10:44 pm

[41] Just jumped out for a minute for my lunch bento-box!
Wow..9 pitches usually means 3 up 3 down for Mo..

46 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 10:45 pm

[42] Stewart is playing injured.

47 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 28, 2013 11:00 pm

Joba made him do it.

48 Ben   ~  May 29, 2013 6:59 am

47. You're close. I believe it was Arod's fault.
