At this point, they could have Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle, Dimaggio, Berra Reynolds and Ford return and not make the playoffs. Does anyone really expect that a 39 year old shortstop who has limited range and hasn't faced a major league pitcher in 9 months is going to juice a lineup that has the worst batting average in the AL? Nostalgic, maybe, game changing? Not a chance.

i had a work event at yankee stadium last night. someone auctioned off four tickets to this afternoon's game. not a lot of enthusiasm for the tickets - thursday afternoon game, might, against the royals, these yankees.
 Not to pile on, but I'm curious, how did Allie Reynolds sneak into your pantheon of Yankee greats coming back from near-death (or actual death) to not save the 2013 Yankees?
