Why no Gritner?

I hope they destroy him

Brett Gardner had his hand spiked last night, but it’s a non-issue today. Just a day off. “I’m trying to keep everyone involved here,” Girardi said. “I think that’s the important thing, because everyone’s worked really hard and I think it’s important to do that. Against the lefties we’ll figure it out when we get to Chicago.”

Ohhh.
Yeah, it's important to keep the worse players involved. Everyone gets a chance, everybody plays, that's the important thing.

Excellent.
I'm glad Phil is getting the chance to Be Involved.

6 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 3:53 pm

Aaaaaaaand, that'll do it.

So Pineda has a sore shoulder and Hughes sucks. Just wonderful.

Phil did manage to get three outs. One was an RBI, one was the pitcher sacrificing, and the other was a CS.

phelps is hurt too and jetes has a calf issue again.

good times.

10 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 4:15 pm

Yeah, that's a good strategy. You want Phil pitching with as many men on base as possible.

11 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 4:20 pm

Oh, come on. I think everyone needs a chance to play. Joe hardly gave Phil a chance at all!

(Sarcasm makes the whole thing less painful somehow. For me.)

Hit the showers, Phil. Nice work. I can't even muster enough rage to string about 25 os after a b.

I'm so glad we held on to Phil Hughes this week. This was fun.

Lettuce remember Romine's first ML home run.

15 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:01 pm

[14] Oh, man. Damn.

Isn't San Diego the birthplace of the Caesar Salad? Just sayin'.

So Pineda has a sore shoulder...

This should surprise no one. Britt. Burns.

17 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:03 pm

[15] Yes. San Diego and Tijuana, contemporaneously. (The Caesar Salad features romaine, is why I say.)

18 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:10 pm

Tying run on deck.

19 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:16 pm

Tying run at the plate.

20 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:19 pm

Couldn't CC bat for Li'l Bridge? Or somebody who isn't hitting .121?

21 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:19 pm

I mean, Brent Lillibridge against Huston Street? That was comical.

22 RIYank   ~  Aug 4, 2013 6:22 pm

Yeah.
Okay.

Well, good fight, boys.
