You Can Take it Upstairs…To The Fatman!

Here’s a cool old relic from the last great era of Yankees dysfunction. It’s a clip of Goose Gossage losing his shit in front of the New York media in 1982–the beginning of a miserable, drawn-out decade for the organization, when all that ’70s glory turned to pinstriped shit.

This year has nothing on the Bronx Zoo hangover years.

I beg to differ that we've got nothing on the zoo hangover years - yesterday, Cashman's stalker ex-mistress claimed ARod's lawyer was conflicted out of representing him because in their pillow talk Cashman told her all about which Yankees do/did steroids and how he didn't really care as long as they win.

But more importantly, what are we going to call this era of dysfunction?

The Roid Chronicles?

As the ARod Turns?

I think this era is worse primarily because I have to explain it to my kids.
It's also harder to choose sides these days because the dysfunction cuts across larger swaths of land, in many layers, and directions.
With 30 years of hindsight, it seems everything was simpler back then.
