Sundazed Soul Bids Phil Hughes a Fond Farewell

A report from the Star Tribune has Phil Hughes signing a 3-year deal with the Twins. His oven stuffer roaster having popped in New York I wish him well in Minnie. Always seemed like a good guy.

As a farewell here’s a Sunday Morning Clean-Up record.

Unlike Pavano, I wish Phil best of luck in Minnesota. Just didn't work out in NY.

Nice young man. Hope he wins 20.

Good back of the rotation guy who didn't live up to great ace-pectations.
I'm sorry to see him go actually. If you accepted him for what he was, and got past what we wanted him to be, you could appreciate his value as a 4th, 5th starter.
So long, and good luck, Big Shoes Hughes.

Good for Phil.

I wish him well, his stuff might play up quite well somewhere else, but he was never going to make it work in NYS ...

Dammit, I knew we should have made him that qualifying offer.

Eh, probably, but adding the cost of 1st round draft pick might have scared the Twins off the deal ...

We'll always have that start in Texas. Farewell, Phil. May you gain a put out pitch in the land of 10,000 lakes.

[8] Guess I need to limber up the arm. 8 MILLION for a back end starter?

10) it's crazy, right? but when you figure top of the rotation guys get two to three times that amount...
