Taster’s Cherce

I’m as into trying new things as the next guy but some products don’t need to be messed with. I haven’t tried a homemade ketchup yet that bests Heinz, have you?

I have indeed tried the homemade stuff; doesn't come close to Heinz.

Although Cook's Illustrated rated Hunt's as superior to Heinz. That seems like crazy talk but I haven't tried a taste test.

Heinz used to taste better. The "regular" product is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. They now make a product named "Simply Heinz" that tastes like the old recipe, and uses only real sugar.

Also, ever notice how the Heinz at restaurants tastes better and looks redder? Is it more fresh? What is it?

4) Didn't know that about the real sugar. Like the Mexican Coke thing. I'll give it a try.
