Cold here, and colder overnight. But holy fuck, did you see what the field conditions are going to be for the Packers playoff game? -10 F. It's inhumane. Inhuman.

Hm. Maybe that captures perfectly the essential difference between football and baseball? Baseball is only good when human; football improves as its humanity drains away.

[3] I've got the Chris Berman "the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field" line running through my head already. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit of a reprieve, up to about 30 with no snow, so it's off to get more supplies - i.e., liquor. Then it's a new snow storm and I don't have any place to put it.

Jeez, I had a chance to be in Tucson for this whole weekend -- starting yesterday. Turned it down. I'd love a mulligan on that decision.
