Have fun storming the castle. Early night for me.

BTW, where is Jesus Montero?

Oh, and if he falls low enough, the Yankees should draft Mo's son.

Night all.

I love watching King Felix, though of course hope he loses tonight.

3-2 Yanks win, three-run tater for Stephen Drew (and two solo bombs from Cano).

3 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:08 pm

[2] on the season:

Cano = 2 homers
Drew = 5 homers

whoda thunk it?!

4 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:10 pm

[3] Ouch...Double Ouch. I will always root for Robbie, hope he's not falling into the dreaded 'Second Basemen Age Badly' black hole.

Oh thelarmis, Roy Haynes was here last week for his 90th B-day concert. Saw a picture of him playing with Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Charles Mingus in 1951 in NYC. Unreal, he played with those guys and still is playing today!

6 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:13 pm

That was quick

7 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:14 pm

8 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:19 pm

That was almost as quick

9 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:32 pm

Austin Jackson hit was the kind I used to get when I was a kid.

But I did better stealing bases.

10 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:34 pm

Man, Felix is looking sharp.

11 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:35 pm

12 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:37 pm

Rain? Don't they have a roof?

13 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:38 pm

They ran up Mikes pitch count that inning. No damage.

14 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:39 pm

[11] Flaherty not excatly the most exciting listen in the world..

15 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:41 pm

How on earth can the Yankees seriously say they are trying to compete when they put Gergorius and Drew in the lineup??

16 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:43 pm

9 for 9 for King F. Gotta admire excellence when you see it.

17 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:43 pm

[16] See [15] :(

18 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:44 pm

DD + Drew = AAAA.

19 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:46 pm

[14] He's fact-based and accurate pitch caller. He's also from Rockland County. What more do you need?

20 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:48 pm

Thanks Robbie!

21 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:51 pm

There goes the no-no.

22 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:52 pm

Time for Gartner to go.

23 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:56 pm

We'll take those singles, keep 'em coming.

24 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:57 pm

25 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 9:59 pm

Midges!

27 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:07 pm

Hey, I'll take 2. 3 walks this inning?

28 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:11 pm

Cruz looked lost on that last swing, wow.

29 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:17 pm

Pineda strikes out the side. Jesus who?

30 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:20 pm

Felix would help himself if he stayed off the wet grass.

31 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:24 pm

Don't like sacrifice but bunt for a hit is ok

32 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:24 pm

[29] Montero is playing for Tacoma Rainiers and getting paid $503k to do so.

33 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:27 pm

Way to go guys.

34 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:28 pm

Ok Alex!

35 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:28 pm

So far this is a good game to stay up for.

36 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:30 pm

37 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:30 pm

41 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:34 pm

Mayckol? Really?!

42 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:37 pm

[14] i'm with you, man. i can finally enjoy some games and all the YES feeds have been Lorenz and Flash. on all of the recent game threads i've noted how insipid, uninspiring, and uninformative this booth is. not terrible, awful, and causing me to hit the mute button, but not an enjoyable experience.

43 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:37 pm

Felix out after 4.2 IP!

44 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:40 pm

Interesting way to spell michael. Love the M's broadcast: the carnage ends.

45 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:45 pm

Every king has a bad day now and then. Shakespeare made a career of detailing these slumps.
I really need to give my fandom energy to this team, cuz when there's time to, the Yankees win.
[16] excellence is not enough, our guy is pretty good longer.

46 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:46 pm

Excellent inning for Big Mike.

47 coleman42   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:47 pm

[45] Amen! Let's have some positivity - we're winning big against the King.

48 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:50 pm

Flippin' baseball, the Yanks can't do a thing against the worst team of all, yet blow the king out of the box. This year will be at least interesting. Damn, do we miss Ellsbury.

49 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 10:58 pm

So Cano strikes out. Still seems odd that he's not in pinstripes.

50 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:00 pm

9 ks for Big Mike!

51 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:01 pm

I heart Pineda.

52 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:01 pm

55 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:29 pm

Not shabby. Good game from big Mike, nice D from Hedley.

56 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:36 pm

around the horn groundouts for Dodo tonight.

57 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:38 pm

[55] and don't forget about Tex going BOOM!!!

58 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:39 pm

does Dellin really need to pitch in this game???

5-run lead...

59 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:43 pm

99mph high heat and robbie goes down swingin'!

that's back-to-back K's for a pitcher that should NOT be in this game.

60 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:46 pm

oh, jesus.

cruz strikes out also but reaches first.

coulda been a 14-pitch inning, with 3 K's. that's annoying.

ok. first pitch drilled to Tex who vacuumed that shit up. nice play.

i hope miller isn't brought in for the 9th...

61 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:49 pm

bloop single for drew.

he got lucky!!!

62 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:57 pm

That sums up Didi. Great, bad, and unlucky.

63 thelarmis   ~  Jun 1, 2015 11:59 pm

dodo showing the range RI loves so much... then, of course, throws it away. E6

64 thelarmis   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:01 am

really, Miller is now warming up?!

why, joe, why??? jesus fuck. give the twin towers a night off. it's a 5-run lead against a team that's not even .500. save your bullets!!

65 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:02 am

I'll have no trouble sleeping tonight after the commentary from that vaudevillian duo of Lorenz and Flash.

66 thelarmis   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:04 am

they're hitting chasen *hard*. thankfully, it's a big ballpark...

67 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:06 am

Nice win. Long live the king.

68 thelarmis   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:07 am

yankee bullpen tonight:

3 pitchers, 3 innings, 4 strikeouts, 1 hit, 0 walks, 0 runs.

dig it. Yankees win!!!

69 thelarmis   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:09 am

Devil Fishes lost. Yanks in 1st place by a hair on their chinny chin chin. Wait, that's not allowed in this organization. By one measly game.

70 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jun 2, 2015 12:17 am

Great win, Down Goes The King!

71 Boatzilla   ~  Jun 2, 2015 3:32 am

It may be my imagination, but it seems like, for more than decade now (mind you I know the lines-up keep changing), the Yanks get smoked by a decent or even unheard of young pitcher and then they turn around and jump all over a Felix, a Pedro, a Buchholz, a Niese, etc. Not always in the same week, but generally.

They seems to play better against the league's best (even future HOFers) and go into zombie mode against rookies and also-rans.

Missed this one -- same situation as RBJ I guess.

I forgot that A-Jax was on the Mariners. So with him, Rob, Jesus in absentia, and Big Mike, this was a really interesting cross-pollination game.
