Is that rain? Are they going to play in the rain?

2 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:13 pm

Looks like it. It's pouring, but they're playing.

3 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:19 pm

Yankees finish at Baltimore. Maybe not if the hurricane moves up the coast. Or else they'll have to find a different venue.

A few years ago the Angels at Indians series was shifted to Milwaukee due to snow.

4 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:22 pm

The latest forecast models have the hurricane going out to sea without hitting the east coast. Of course, there might still be a lot of rain down in Baltimore.

5 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:25 pm

Why are they playing in this rain?

6 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:42 pm

You know what's weird?

It feels like Beltran should have a lot more than 19 home runs.

7 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:42 pm

[5] Because it's the last week of the season ... and the weather's very likely only to get worse from here though the weekend?

8 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:55 pm

Huzzah, runs!

9 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:57 pm

A RISP??? That's UNPOSSIBLE!

10 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 6:57 pm

[9] Err, RBI with RISP ...

11 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:10 pm

Nice dp. Watching the ESPN feed.

12 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:23 pm

Evening all.

13 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:25 pm

I mean, what a setting. It's cold. It's raining, it's windy. Nobody is there. CC is fighting for his life. The game is taking forever. Rich Hill would be a pleasure to witness tonight--he's got that deeply relaxed, deliberate way of moving around tonight, knowing this could be one of the final starts of his career.

14 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:26 pm

HUGE DP, CC! After falling behind, too. Way to go, Big Fella!

15 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:26 pm

And way to hang in there Robbie Ref.

16 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:29 pm

There ya go, big guy

17 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:31 pm

It is a miserable night. Maybe the first night heat is needed this season. CC if one thing is tough, but every time some Sox or two gets on base , the 2-3 run homer is the fear.

And, who is available in the bullpen that can keep a lead?

18 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:32 pm

Runs, we need runs!

19 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:33 pm

Nice rip, Chris. Man, that's the first ball that's dropped beyond a Red Sox outfielder this series. Guess cause it wasn't hit near Bradley.

20 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:33 pm

That's a start.

21 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:33 pm

OMG, a fly ball that the Sox outfield couldn't run down!

22 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:34 pm

17) THAT, my friend, is a good question. Where is Warren? Wouldn't he be the logical guy to push up to come out of the pen?

23 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:37 pm

Dayum, that's a hell of a throw

24 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:38 pm

Sox outfield is pissing me the fuck off this series ...

25 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:39 pm

Bullshit.

26 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:40 pm

[24] yeah, pissed off they don't wear pin stripes?

27 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:42 pm

Wonder how many magic bullets CC has left.

28 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:42 pm

[26] No, I'm fine with our OF, but this is the series these bags of bollocks all decide to turn up and play out of their minds???

29 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:42 pm

26) You have to be. They are some nice players--a little cocky, which makes them easier to root against. Not Bogarts, though. I really like Bogarts.

30 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:43 pm

There was a soft ground ball that went against us. FUCK.

31 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:43 pm

Not good

32 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:45 pm

[22] asked and answered

33 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:45 pm

[29] Cocky is good. I wish we had some guys with a bit more flair. Only Mo, hallowed be his name, was right to be stoic and 'classy'. I want some more oomph from the guys now..

34 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:45 pm

Thank you Shit Sox.

35 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:49 pm

Weren't getting out of it unscathed.

36 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:54 pm

Phew!

37 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:54 pm

Jesus...sweating here. MORE RUNS MORE RUNS

38 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 7:59 pm

Big get out of trouble for CC. CC rolled the dice and made his point. Not sure if it would happen again.

39 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:02 pm

Bru-tal.

40 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:06 pm

You called it Alex, Adam Warren is the right move, he won't be starting tomorrow.

41 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:06 pm

One away. Warren needs to get 9 up and 9 down.

42 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:12 pm

Come on blue, where was that!

43 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:15 pm

With a little bit o luck!

44 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:15 pm

Nice! Ole

45 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:15 pm

Hahaha! Awesome.

46 rob_smith_51   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:17 pm

Since the Angels and Rangers play, the Yankees will play at least one more game even if they lose out. The most the Angles can win is 87 and that would leave Texas with 86. The most the Twins could win is 86. The Astros could win 87. Unless I am missing something.

47 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:18 pm

Insurance, please

48 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:22 pm

Christ with this Rich Hill already.

49 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:29 pm

Homina homina homina

50 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:29 pm

phew

51 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:32 pm

Great pitch to get Bradley. And if Didi got called out on the low pitch it's only fair that Bradley Jr does too.

52 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:33 pm

Nasty 1-1 curve.

53 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:33 pm

Holy SHIT WHERE'S THAT PITCH????

54 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:34 pm

You're killing us blue

55 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:34 pm

Outstanding.

56 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:36 pm

6 outs to go.

57 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:36 pm

LET'S GET SOME DAMN RUNS!

58 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:36 pm

Adam Warren is the just Yankee.

59 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:39 pm

Let one fly, Bird

60 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:41 pm

Thank you!

62 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:43 pm

63 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:46 pm

64 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:46 pm

Weird!

65 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:52 pm

This is Warren's game. Forget anyone else, dude. Get 6 outs. Get us the win.

66 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:52 pm

Why does Gardner suck so much?

He has to be playing hurt.

67 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:54 pm

NICE. Fucking Shaw. Nice sequence. One out. 5 to go.

68 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:54 pm

66) Do you think Ellsbury's been hurt too? I wonder cause he hasn't been the same since he returned from injury.

NICE. 1 pitch, 1 out.

4 to Go!

69 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:57 pm

DiDi!

70 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:57 pm

73 randym77   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:58 pm

I ❤ Didi.

74 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 8:59 pm

Hey, a real SS, that sure is nice to have again ...

75 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:00 pm

Who the hell is that guy?

76 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:01 pm

Moar insurance!

77 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:01 pm

Jesus. I mean, nobody told us he could do that. He just crushed it.

78 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:01 pm

They've got Betanes warming up. Why not just keep Warren in?

ROBBIE REF!!!!

79 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:01 pm

Robbie The Rookie!

Now sit Betances the FUCK down, Joe!

80 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:02 pm

So, does Rico get an AB in the last weekend series? Gotta say yes

81 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:03 pm

Yeah, I would definitely let Warren bang the gavel and declare this game adjourned. Even if we don't score again. But absolutely definitely if we do.

82 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:05 pm

Oh he's safe.

Uh.

Hm, maybe not. He tagged the helmet. Maybe.

83 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:06 pm

[81] I realize it's your Opinion, but highly Judgemental of you.

84 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:07 pm

[83] I was Commissioned to render a verdict.

85 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:09 pm

Oh, "Boston sucks." Really?

The Losers' Chant, and in a particularly unoriginal mode.

86 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:09 pm

[84] well played.

87 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:15 pm

I really don't like relieving Warren here.

88 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:16 pm

Then again, 1 up, 2 left.

89 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:16 pm

Dang.
It's Good Dellin tonight.

90 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:17 pm

One down

91 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:17 pm

Dellin. This is the number 8 hitter. Why over throw? Relax.

92 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:18 pm

Way to get it to 3-2.

93 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:18 pm

Be aggressive. Go after him, son!

94 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:19 pm

Sure hands.

One more pin Rodney!!!!!!!!

95 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:19 pm

Two down

96 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:20 pm

Jeez, blue, you're killing us tonight

97 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:20 pm

First meaningful October game in 3 years upcoming. Whoo-hoo!

98 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:20 pm

And our bullpen ties the season strikeout record. Did the YES crew mention that? (I'm watching on NESN.)

102 cult of basebaal   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:22 pm

WILD CARD, BABY!!!

103 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:22 pm

Beautiful.

10K is a sweet one!

104 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:22 pm

Congrats, but easy on the celebration. Haven't won nothing.

10,000 win, kinda like 10,000 hours?

105 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:23 pm

Good on field celebration, not getting over amped. Now there's work to be done

106 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:23 pm

The season started and you told us they'll be a wildcard team, we would have taken it. And I'm happy they got it now.

107 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:23 pm

105) Other teams could take note.

108 mhoward120   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:23 pm

When you hit the age of 64, just making it into the post-season is extremely satisfying.

109 rbj   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:23 pm

Night all

110 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:23 pm

WC game ain't the postseason for me..it's to get IN the playoffs.

111 RIYank   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:24 pm

[110] Yeah, but you drive on the wrong side of the road.

112 coleman42   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:26 pm

[110] Well said...and accurate. Who will we play?

113 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:26 pm

[110] And I live in the future, use sticks to eat, AND take my shoes off before entering my home!

114 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:27 pm

[111] Wow RI, my follwing comment got sent to moderation!

"A nd I live in the future, use sticks to eat, A ND take my shoes off before entering my home!"

115 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:29 pm

RI, I keep having non-profane comments go to 'moderation' for some reason..in response to [111] . They were funny, maybe will liase through out long-haired pal in Hotlanta.

116 Bronx Boy in NC   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:32 pm

[105], [107] In the same spirit, I hate those hats and T-shirts so much.

You know what you should wear to celebrate an achievement? The uniform of your goddamn team, that's what.

That "POSTSEASON" hat on A-Rod looks like the "COLLEGE" sweatshirt on John Belushi.

Merchandising. I'll never buy any of that stuff.

117 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:41 pm

Never take making the post season for granted. This is so cool.

118 Shaun P.   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:51 pm

It is really satisfying to see the Yanks finally clinch, and finally win #10,000, and to see these guys celebrate. That it came against the Red Sox is a little amusing icing on the cake; yet further proof the universe has a sense of humor (OF COURSE win #10,000 would come against the Red Sox; who else?).

The cool part is that these guys seem like a genuinely good bunch; I've really enjoyed following the team all season long.

Now let's see the Yanks clinch home field for the Wild Card game . . . and then win the Wild Card game . . . and then, we'll see what is next!

119 Shaun P.   ~  Oct 1, 2015 9:58 pm

[105] Greg Bird just said the same thing - "we still have work to do". I love this kid.
