Yanks won a close one last night, and so why not more? I know the Indians are good and all…

Never mind the tom toms:

Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Sigh. Game over. 1 - 0

2 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:20 pm

Good that Chad didn't waste too much of our time.

3 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:20 pm

Stake in the heart. 2 - 0.

4 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:20 pm

Wow.
Chad's going for a record!

5 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:21 pm

Hanging Chad.

Cruel? Irresistible, though.

6 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:29 pm

Fer fuck's sake

7 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:31 pm

Finally

8 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:35 pm

I don't think I've ever seen that. Three homers in the first inning. By the same team.

9 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:37 pm

Remember that kid the Yankees brought up for a game against the Red Sox? I forget the year but at one point he gave up four straight homers. And was promptly yanked. I wonder what happened to him

Chase Wright. 2007. Hasn't played in majors since 2007.

11 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 6:58 pm

Oh, yes, vaguely. That was ghastly.

12 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:01 pm

Day-um, almost another one

13 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:04 pm

Number four

14 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:04 pm

I swear I saw that one coming.

15 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:26 pm

Ouch, Cone

16 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:42 pm

Yeah Ref, we're all bored with another night of losing.

17 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:44 pm

I'd be willing to pitch an inning.

18 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 7:57 pm

Ah, so we're only giving up doubles now instead of home runs

19 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:02 pm

And, only one run per inning! That's an improvement.

20 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:06 pm

Oh, a run. No shutout

21 thelarmis   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:12 pm

RI - I'd be willing to catch you. Or, at the very least, pay to watch you pitch. Better yet, I'd like to get paid to call balls and strikes. And balks and catchers interference. I must warn you, I have a quick trigger so you may be thrown of the game.

22 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:13 pm

Double digits for them. I hope they're getting tuckered out for tomorrow's game.

23 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:15 pm

I could get drummed out of the game. That would be an experience.

Hm, if this keeps up do we have to send pizza to Papa John or something?

24 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:26 pm

[23] is what Papa sells actually pizza? I miss good NY single restaurant pizza.

25 rbj   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:37 pm

Well, I'm gonna let the dogs out one last time. Night all. Not a good one, but hey, we have another tomorrow

26 thelarmis   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:39 pm

If you trap (set) a low line drive to the mound, I'll make certain the replay shows you snared it.

27 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:39 pm

Yep.
Good thing we didn't waste our precious offense this evening. Saving it up for a Tanaka or Pineda game!

28 RIYank   ~  Jul 8, 2016 8:41 pm

Oy.
If I give you the signal, go right to first bass.

29 Evil Empire   ~  Jul 8, 2016 9:23 pm

I asked this the other day in a game thread that was spent. I'll ask it again --

Is it wrong for me to basically hope that the Yanks lose enough to start making trades? I really want to see them deal Miller, Chapman and Betances if they can get the right price: (1) either prospects that are highly ranked; or (2) no prospects but the buyer has to take a bad contract (Ellsbury is the guy I really want to unload).

The Cubs won't trade Schwarber for Miller. Ok but would they take Ellsbury to get Miller? How about the Rangers or Nats?

30 thelarmis   ~  Jul 8, 2016 9:32 pm

I bet you give up a two bass hit. On your first pitch no less!

31 RIYank   ~  Jul 9, 2016 6:10 am

Hey, that was a perfect pitch! I threw it as hard as I could. I think it was a 110. I mean, A 110, that's a perfect pitch for two basses.
