Slightly partial to the Cubs, but Cleveland winning would be fine too. I want 7 games.

There was a song on the local sports radio show today called Miller Time -- set to Michael Jackson's Thriller

2 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 7:15 pm

Generous strike zone tonight

3 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 7:25 pm

Oh no, free Taco Bell tacos

Bases juiced.

The ol' swinging bunt trick.

I don't mind seeing Laptops rattled

12 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 8:44 pm

See ya! Laptop in line for a loss

13 RIYank   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:05 pm

Wait, Lester isn't Laptops. Buchholz is Laptops.

14 RIYank   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:05 pm

Or just singular, Laptop.

15 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:06 pm

[13] Ah, thanks. Still don't mind Lester losing

16 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:10 pm

5 days off, yes bring Miller in for the 7th

17 RIYank   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:12 pm

I don't mind, but Buchholz is a douche bag, and Lester is a cancer survivor, so I'll never put them in the same category.

Red Sox fans can't see anything in this Series except the GM that got away vs. the manager that got away, so they aren't thinking much about the ace pitcher who got away.

I think I'm rooting for the Indians. Weird. I didn't realize it until I started watching tonight.

18 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:17 pm

Lester may not be as bad as those other two, but he was part of the trio that was drinking beer and eating fried chicken in the clubhouse during games. Which is why Francona is in the other dugout.

I've got no dog in this hunt other than seven more baseball games before winter.

19 rbj   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:24 pm

Signing off for the night. Early morning.

20 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 25, 2016 9:45 pm

Good old Miller time.

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  Oct 25, 2016 10:33 pm

3 run BOMB in the bottom of the 8th. 6-0.

22 thelarmis   ~  Oct 25, 2016 10:41 pm

closer in with a 6-run lead. i know he hasn't pitched in awhile, but maybe he shouldn't be exposed...

23 thelarmis   ~  Oct 25, 2016 10:48 pm

tribe wins game 1

24 seamus   ~  Oct 25, 2016 11:05 pm

Heyo. Sorta watching the world serious from afar, but did yinz see Chad Jennings was let go from Lohud? Sounds like they simply cut the position. I think they should fire whoever designed the site instead.

25 thelarmis   ~  Oct 25, 2016 11:15 pm

[24] holy crap, i did NOT see that! that's just terrible. chad was *awesome*. i'm glad pete abe started it, but he was a shit sox fan and nowhere close to as good as chad. a different planet actually.

i had to stop reading lohud because they started charging money this year. i've been reading River Ave Blues and could not be happier. in fact, i'm upset i haven't been reading it religiously the past 10 years. only things i miss from lohud are the in-game threads with updates and post-game with quotes.

is the lohud blog gone? chad is terrific and he'll get a gig immediately. maybe closer to his midwest routes. maybe reporting for the minor leagues, which is his forte.

thanks for everything, chad, and good luck!

26 seamus   ~  Oct 26, 2016 11:00 am

[25] i'm not sure if the blog is gone but they cut their beat writers. I agree, Chad was terrific. And yeah I had abandoned lohud almost completely because of their firewall. I just visited there last night for the first time in a while and saw the news.

27 rbj   ~  Oct 26, 2016 11:09 am

You could get a few free articles at lohud (and other Gannet publications I assume) per month. But if they're cutting Chad, well I have less reason to go there. Living in Toledo these days I'm not that interested in local lower Hudson Valley news. The Yankees however are a national brand. I get the local newspaper for local news, sports, comics and the advertisements.

Playing small ball

45 RIYank   ~  Oct 28, 2016 8:41 pm

Hah, I just dropped by to say "they're playing small ball"!
Too slow, though.

46 rbj   ~  Oct 28, 2016 8:45 pm

54 rbj   ~  Oct 28, 2016 9:09 pm

This has the smell of a walk off.

55 RIYank   ~  Oct 28, 2016 9:13 pm

Boy, it really does.

Okay, so who gets the game-winning hit? I'm gonna say...
Rizzo.

56 rbj   ~  Oct 28, 2016 9:16 pm

Schwarber.

57 thelarmis   ~  Oct 28, 2016 9:19 pm

I'm going with Lindor and Kipnis coming through. Maybe Jose Ramirez.

2 more strike em outs for Andrew!!

58 thelarmis   ~  Oct 28, 2016 9:20 pm

Struck out the side!

59 thelarmis   ~  Oct 28, 2016 9:26 pm

Tense! Drama!

76 thelarmis   ~  Oct 28, 2016 10:40 pm

He went. Even at deuces.

77 Start Spreading the News   ~  Oct 28, 2016 10:41 pm

I am surprised that they let the cubs take 2nd base. a base hit would have won instead of tied. But it worked out for Cleveland Native Americans

78 thelarmis   ~  Oct 28, 2016 10:41 pm

Struck him out on way high cheese.

5th shutout for the tribe this postseason.

79 thelarmis   ~  Oct 28, 2016 10:50 pm

Watched the entire game with my dad on the eve of his 75th birthday. My family flew to NY to surprise him. We're having a music party for him here at the house where I grew up. I'll be playing my nephew's drums.

80 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Oct 29, 2016 7:00 pm

Here's hoping for a tied world serious.

81 rbj   ~  Oct 29, 2016 7:07 pm

Yeah, I want 7 games

82 rbj   ~  Oct 29, 2016 7:20 pm

Klubot suffocating the Cubs

90 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Oct 29, 2016 9:49 pm

Hard to see Miller in with this big of a lead!

91 thelarmis   ~  Oct 30, 2016 8:16 am

There was no reason to pitch Andrew in a 7-1 game. None! And now there's a blemish on his remarkable postseason run.

Tonight will be the last MLB game I can watch until April, and I hope to see a celebration!

92 rbj   ~  Oct 30, 2016 7:03 pm

Come on Cubbies, make it a series

93 thelarmis   ~  Oct 30, 2016 7:18 pm

here we go!

94 thelarmis   ~  Oct 30, 2016 7:20 pm

96 thelarmis   ~  Oct 30, 2016 7:22 pm

126 RIYank   ~  Oct 30, 2016 8:32 pm

130 RIYank   ~  Oct 30, 2016 8:37 pm

Maddon really does make the correct moves.

131 thelarmis   ~  Oct 30, 2016 8:37 pm

149 thelarmis   ~  Oct 30, 2016 9:35 pm
