Beautiful day out, almost feel guilty about sitting on the couch

2 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 12:30 pm

Thanks for the run, Molina

3 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 12:34 pm

Sigh

4 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 12:56 pm

Definitely a weird start

5 Boatzilla   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:07 pm

Hey Peeps! Can't sleep. Quick question: What's a Peeps?

6 Boatzilla   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:09 pm

Another quick question. Why were they just playing "London Calling" at the Stadium?

7 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:14 pm

Bird is lost.
[5] you mean marshmallow peeps?

8 Boatzilla   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:18 pm

[7] YES just announced a giveaway promo and the item was some kind of plush toy called "Peeps". Looks vaguely like a huge baby chick. I remember Beanie Babies, but that's going way back.

[5] Tom, rbj beat me to it -- Peeps are a disgusting marshmallow candy, wildly popular at Easter.

[7] I don't know the back story on Bird's batting woes, but that was an awful at-bat. Two of those balls he whiffed on were way out of the zone.

10 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:21 pm

[8] ah, so a plush version of a chick peep.

11 Boatzilla   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:22 pm

[9] I remember those. Least favorite Easter Candy. Looks like he's "pressing," as they say.

Weird game so far. We should have way more than 1 run.

8 Ks, 6 BBs in 3 innings for the Cards' thrower.

13 Eric McCauley   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:26 pm

[10] Manischewitz submitted their matzo promo too late to get on the schedule this week.

14 Boatzilla   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:36 pm

[13] Ha! It's not the same with out Sammy.

15 Eric McCauley   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:40 pm

[14] Almonetta! Don Draper wishes he'd come up with that one.

16 Eric McCauley   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:42 pm

I gotta say, I was fairly convinced Ellsbury was washed up. Glad he's proving me wrong so far.

17 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:46 pm

That was ball 4, blue.

Bollocks!

18 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:47 pm

We've been letting this guy off the hook.

Let's go, Bird. Big fly right here!

19 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:49 pm

Another walk!!

20 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:50 pm

Let's go, Higgy!

True Yankee moment

21 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:51 pm

Damn, Higgs almost had a hit

22 Boatzilla   ~  Apr 15, 2017 1:57 pm

[16] I was just gonna say that. You can't predict baseball, Susan.

It's Ambien time. Enjoy the game guys. I expect a "W" when I wake up.

23 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:00 pm

CC cruising.

We really need some runs.

24 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:02 pm

27 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:07 pm

Sooo ugly. Cards are so So SO bad at defense!!

28 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:08 pm

No mound meeting? No reliever? Jeesh.

29 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:09 pm

30 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:35 pm

CC for the eighth!

31 Alex Belth   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:36 pm

C.C. has just been a marvel today.

32 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:37 pm

Damn, shutout gone

33 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:38 pm

Shutout gone. CC still looks good and there were some questionable calls on the previous two pitches.

CC out. Great job, very large human. Still think he could've gone another batter or two. No big boys in the pen today.

34 thelarmis   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:44 pm

I dig Warren.

35 rbj   ~  Apr 15, 2017 2:45 pm
