The Dream Is Dead: Phillies Take a Schlitter

You may recall that last month, I was thrilled when the Yankees claimed reliever Brian Schlitter from the Cubs. Alas, our favorite awesome headline generator was designated for assignment on Monday, to make room for Andruw Jones on the 40-man roster, and yesterday he was claimed off waivers by the Phillies. Those greedy bastards – they snap up all the great starting pitchers and then they have to go and take the great names, too?

One more for the road: Horseschlitt.

In other news, Richie Weeks and Brewers agree to a 4yr/$40M deal with an option for 5th year at 10M.

Cano and Boras look at this, and will seek to double this, at least ...

Well if he ever goes into the stands and starts a rumble, we can say the Schlit has hit the fan.

Might as well use them all up now, rather than save them for the season. Phillies did a very Schlitty thing here.

That's a shame, I heard he had a terrific Schlitt-finger fastball.
