The Chevalier bit is one of my favorite from the Marx Brothers. Marx Brothers fans around Hartford might want to head over to the Mark Twain House in Hartford tonight, where Roy Blount, Jr. will talk about his new book which argues why Duck Soup is the best anti-war movie; after the presention, they'll show the movie (the bit where the spies, Harpo and Chico, discuss how they're going to shadow Firefly (Groucho) is a classic).

Wow, I wish I could be there to hear Blount, Jr.

Sounds amazing. And yeah, agreed, this is one of my favorite sequences from the boys.

To this day, my father will occasionally break into an impression of Chevalier singing "Mimi." It still amuses me too. The first time I saw Chevalier sing it - in Love Me Tonight, the picture that clip comes from, I laughed from recognition.

Now, the Marx Brothers, my father made sure I grew up with them. I can recall him getting me to watch A Night at The Opera with him on TV.

[1] [2] When I introduced myself to Roy Blount, Jr. last night (as he was autographing my copy of his book on Duck Soup), I asked him if he was a baseball fan and he said he was. I quickly (there was a line behind me...) told him about the Banter and that there was just a link today to the Chevalier bit and that he should really check out the site because it was about baseball and so much more. He said he would and mentioned that he was writing a book about the Yankees!
