"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

Main Source

Brian Cashman met with Derek Jeter’s agent yesterday. A source told me that a deal will be worked out soon. A second source then informed me that the first source doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about, and a third source informed me that the first two sources were figments of my imagination. Right.

The Winter Meetings are next week. My hunch is that by the time they are finished, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and Cliff Lee will sign with the Yanks. That’s a hunch, not coming from a source.

[0] if your sources were horses this would be a "glue-me" day.

I dunno about those sources, but I think you have good hunches.

Alex, I like your hunch a bunch! And they're not just crunch at lunch while we munch. Most of the time you have them, they're just the right punch.

My guess is that Jeter and Mo are the Main Source, Cashman, the Steinbrothers and Randy Levine are the Brand New Heavies; they're all just playing a friendly game of Baseball while DJ's Looking At The Front Door...

Meanwhile, Casey Close and Cashman are Fakin' the Funk to the press; this all gets done in a week >;)

I heard Jete uses Bernie's Gi-tar strings for floss.

He must be the Main Source.

Meanwhile, got the first dusting of snow this morning. Crank up that hot stove.

DJ's looking at the front door? The question is whether he will walk through it under his own volition or as a result of a boot in the ass. I don't need to see his Willy Mays swansong. Not ready to see him play left field, like Yogi or 1b, like Ellie. I want him to stay around, get a personality, and become Stan The Man.

Original Yanks Elston, Yogi, and Lefty Gomez were let go. Let him go wherever he wants. He got paid plenty to play the way he did.

If 3,000 takes place in Atlanta, at least I will be able to get a seat at a reasonable price, plus the air fare.

When Extra P says "So I should win an award for lots of patience" I used to think he was saying "Losapaciouis" and it was a fancy word I didn't know.

[10] what does he need? 76 hits? I looked at his last 5 years to try to plan a trip and based on the usual number of games they play for him to get that number they'll be on a long west coast trip. More than likely they'll sit him enough so it will be at the home series versus boston in the middle of the week in mid June. I don't think the Yanks play Atlanta this season.
