Gordon will go two for three. Mark it down.

No game. Rained out. Doubleheader tomorrow.

Wow, that double sucks.

No game tonite and I'll miss both games tomorrow.

Damn, I really wanted to watch Gordon pitch AND hit.

I hate rainouts. Seriously considering playing hooky from work tomorrow.

Mike Leake will face Freddy Garcia in the 12:35 game, while Johnny Cueto will oppose Brian Gordon in the 7:10 p.m. start.

Girardi says Martin won't catch both games, and A-Rod will probably sit out one of them as well.

My prediction is automatically transferred to tomorrow.

Sheeeeeeiiiiiitttttttttttttt. I spent all day on Lake Ontario. Was looking forward to the game. Rats.

Damn.

Whoa. Ace was staked to a 1-0 lead, had two outs in the second, and now he's lost the strike zone. Nine straight balls? Something like that. I find this kind of thing disturbing. The fragility of life.

9 RIYank   ~  Jun 21, 2011 7:44 pm

Twelve straight balls.

10 RIYank   ~  Jun 21, 2011 7:46 pm

A strike! But then two more balls.
Man, he was 2-2 with two out and nobody on. Then twelve balls, bases loaded, and then he walked Jason Bartlett on five pitches, forcing in a run. Bizarre.

Ace walks Chase Headley on eleven pitches, forcing in a second run.

This is very unpleasant to watch (though the fact that it must be absolute torture for RSN makes it a little easier!).

Ryan Ludwick flies out to center to end the inning.
Poor Ace! He's at 55 pitches after two innings.

13 RIYank   ~  Jun 21, 2011 8:05 pm

Aceves threw 33 pitches without a ball being hit into play! And didn't strike anyone out. Holy smokes.

The Padres are pummeling Ace like a pummel horse. Also Cameron Maybin stole second on a pitch-out.

[14] On a pitchout? Captain Leadership coudn't throw him out?
Not that it matters, Sox probably will come back.

[15] No, the other guy. Jarrod Longname.

[16] Sometimes Gameday on mlb.com says odd things..like "D. Ortiz, Stolen base (1)". WTF??!

18 RIYank   ~  Jun 21, 2011 9:39 pm

[17] Uhhh... really? I haven't watched every inning, but I didn't see that! I did see Papi fail to reach first on a dropped third strike -- he didn't seem to notice right away, and man is he slow. Holy smokes.

Now I've also seen Jacoby Ellsbury get CS, with runners in the corners and one out. Interesting situation. Latos walked Pedroia after that, which I bet he wouldn't have done if Ellsbury had stayed put. Now Chad Qualls in to face A-Gon with two on and two out -- Gonzales struck out earlier in a similar situation.

To be honest, I'm bored with the game, though.
