Not a wunnerful start for Mr. Nova, though.

But a nice job to limit the Tigers to just one run.

3,4. Reminds me of an old Simpson's episode:

This doll holds a terrible curse... But it also comes with a free fruit Yogurt! I call it Frogurt!... The Frogurt is also cursed.

I think this is what's in store for us the early part of this Yankees Baseball Year.

I'm following on gameday. Cool to see the pitch selection and location. One thing it has over radio I guess.

[6] And the occasional right-down-the-pipe "ball."

Yeah, that's weird. I figure the zone isn't being adjusted for player height or something...

Tigers chipping away. Nova seems to be working hard, falling behind then putting up a good battle. Whose he think he is, El Duque?

11 RagingTartabull   ~  Apr 5, 2013 1:25 pm

12 Alex Belth   ~  Apr 5, 2013 1:25 pm

Couple of descriptions from Twitter from Daniel Barbarisi of the Wall Street Journal:

Nunez hit in the right arm by a fister pitch - goes down like he was shot.

Looks like it's right above the elbow. Nunez on the ground in extreme pain.

Jayson Nix in at shortstop. Nunez looks like he's going to be out a while.

So record-wise, I feel perfectly confident. Where are O'Neill, Williams, Martinez, Posada and Brosius in today's batting order? Wait, what?

28 Greg G   ~  Apr 5, 2013 3:08 pm

Let's get a 5 run Esploshin. Who is with me?

29 Greg G   ~  Apr 5, 2013 3:09 pm

Oh crap! The game is already over.
