Welcome to the show, rookies.

Hello? Is this thread active?

5 Mattpat11   ~  May 15, 2014 6:43 pm

Does anyone other than Fred Wilpon actually *like* the dimensions of Citi Field?

6 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 6:44 pm

[4] Yup. Good young pitching so far.

7 Mattpat11   ~  May 15, 2014 6:47 pm

Nine games against Pittsburgh and the Chicago teams? The Yankees really need to win seven

8 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 6:47 pm

Woo hoo, a hit for Chase!

9 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 6:50 pm

Amazing that the Mutts pitchers are 0 for the season.

10 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 6:51 pm

Can't do anything about that.

11 Alex Belth   ~  May 15, 2014 6:57 pm

Decent start for both kids.

12 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 7:00 pm

Heh they both have hits

13 Alex Belth   ~  May 15, 2014 7:01 pm

I spoke too soon. Still nice to see the kid get the first hit of any Met pitcher this year.

[5] I do, though I liked them better before they brought the fences in. Then again, I also liked Comerica better when it was bigger, and for that matter I preferred the remodelled Yankee Stadium of my youth, which was 389' to the LF power ally, 430' to deep LCF and 417' to CF. I like big, spacious ballpark with cavernous dimensions.

Wow, nice job, Chase.

[7] Pirates are pretty good. Gonna be a tough series.

17 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 7:19 pm

Great game here...

18 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 7:20 pm

Don't let the BUC get to you!

21 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 7:36 pm

Hmmmm, pitcher is up.

22 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 7:39 pm

Strategery.

23 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 7:40 pm

I would've let Whitley stay in to get last out.

24 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 7:43 pm

Betances dances out of another jam

25 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 7:57 pm

Day-um

26 Mattpat11   ~  May 15, 2014 7:57 pm

[16] Pirates are kinda awful 17-23

27 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:09 pm

crap

28 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:11 pm

Oh wait, misread that. That's what happens when I step out for a minute.

[14 monkeypants sighting!

I agree with you on the field dimensions. We're old geezers now though, youngsters like bandbox parks I guess.

30 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:30 pm

Two rib-eyes, Derek

31 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 8:30 pm

Mets finally playing like they're supposed to?

32 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 8:42 pm

Be careful with Abreu, no 3-2 counts

33 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 8:43 pm

Guess he heard me...

34 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:44 pm

[33] A-yup.

35 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:46 pm

Big zone for all.

36 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:48 pm

Ruh roh

37 Alex Belth   ~  May 15, 2014 8:48 pm

Ugh. Rotten luck base hit by Murph there.

38 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:52 pm

4 out save

39 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 8:53 pm

Some insurance please

40 MSM35   ~  May 15, 2014 8:57 pm

Is Dellin the Mariano of '96? Pitch the 7th and 8th and let Robertson finish. Sounds like a plan?

41 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 15, 2014 9:02 pm

[40] I heartily endorse that system.

42 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 15, 2014 9:05 pm

Mejia looks like a throwback from the '70s

43 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 9:06 pm

Tight rope time -- no net.

44 MSM35   ~  May 15, 2014 9:08 pm

This is the only real save situation. 1 run lead on the road.

45 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 9:10 pm

I hope DRob is not stale...

46 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 9:10 pm

One down

47 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 9:13 pm

Two down

48 Alex Belth   ~  May 15, 2014 9:13 pm

Nice job for the second out.

49 coleman42   ~  May 15, 2014 9:16 pm

Not stale

50 rbj   ~  May 15, 2014 9:17 pm

Three down!

After crappy play at home, nice to see a double shutout.

51 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 15, 2014 9:18 pm

1-0 win? I missed just about all this game. Two rookie debuts and no runs? How is that possible ? Kinda a quiet exciting sort of game.

52 Alex Belth   ~  May 15, 2014 9:20 pm

Most impressive.
