I obviously don't pay attention to other teams. Capuano is a starter? I see that now looking at his stats. I just somehow didn't realize it before.

2 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:20 pm

yikes. hopefully he can get out of this.

3 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:23 pm

Phew. So, 25+ pitches in the first inning. He's been working as reliever all year. Is he stretched out at all?

4 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:31 pm

stupid is as stupid does.

5 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:37 pm

yeah, i think he has 209 starts under his belt. he's had a modicum of success. i remember him mostly as a brewer.

can't say i'm happy with 2 BBs and a hbp so far...

6 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:39 pm

i'll take that gift out!

stoopid bunt...

7 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:42 pm

[5] thelarmis! Thought i was doing this solo.

8 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:42 pm

ichiro caught the 3rd out again.

cap is working slowly, but no runs after two.

9 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:42 pm

[7] duets are more fun!

10 rbj   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:44 pm

Only have a few more minutes before taking off for Lake Gaston. A couple of runs please.

11 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:45 pm

every time kay introduces chase headley, i think he's saying "chase utley"

12 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:46 pm

[10] trios are the best!

Lake Gaston sounds like NC, but I think you said you were traveling the Penna Turnpike...

13 rbj   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:47 pm

I'm making like that dragon fly and flying off.

14 rbj   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:49 pm

[12] Ohio & PA turnpikes to the parents in Newport News, today it's from N.N. to the lake. House is actually in VA. But can only get there from NC.

15 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:50 pm

i'm a big maddux fan. i hope he has a few of his dry humor witty one-liners tomorrow!

16 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:50 pm

[9] indeed. and rbj!

17 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:50 pm

jetes with a good throw deep in the hole!

18 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:51 pm

[14] nice. travel safely and enjoy!

19 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:51 pm

nicely done captain.

[14] pa turnpike makes me cry. safe travels!

20 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:52 pm

nice, quick, easy inning with very few pitches thrown!

21 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:59 pm

2 for 2!

22 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:59 pm

i got to see derek jeter get two hits today.

very cool! : )

23 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 12:59 pm

[21] haha, awesome!

24 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:00 pm

yikes. 30 pitches through 3 innings is mighty efficient for Hutchinson.

25 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:01 pm

[19] if the Penna Trnpk makes you cry, what would happen on the Cross Bronx Expressway?

I'm liking this Yankee team, and it's ironic that seemingly (sorry for the "ly" adverb Alex) 75% of the payroll is stagnant, and 25% is carrying the team

26 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:03 pm

[25] They are different animals really. It's been a long time since i've been on the cross bronx expressway though.

unfortunately safe.

27 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:08 pm

i'm gonna get quiet here as I dive into work more. I'm just hoping Capuano can go 5, or even better 6. So far so good really. Knocking on wood...

28 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:08 pm

nice freaking catch, rbj!!!

29 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:09 pm

Oh, and it's weird how when I looked how to spell his name all i can think of is guano.

what a catch!

30 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:10 pm

Paulie O is quite likable in the booth.

31 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:12 pm

nice cap! (-uano, not DJ)

32 coleman42   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:14 pm

[30] he's better than before. Someone told him to liven it up with relevant comment about players feelings, behavior etc. and less of the goofiness. He's better prepared, winging it less.

33 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:15 pm

[30] yup, even through the goofiness, he can express the experience , feel and thought process of the players.

34 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:16 pm

[32] good advice, glad he heeded!

35 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:17 pm

crushed!!!

mcCANn!!!

36 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:17 pm

HEADley!!!

heads up bunt. nice work, chase.

37 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:18 pm

38 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:18 pm

bad ichi...

39 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:19 pm

32>33 but like minds...

40 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:21 pm

c'mon brains, another double.

41 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:23 pm

crap. nice catch on the warning track...

42 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:31 pm

don't walk the super fast guy.

43 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:32 pm

44 coleman42   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:34 pm

Melky just loves hitting against the Yankees

45 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:37 pm

46 thelarmis   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:39 pm

47 coleman42   ~  Jul 26, 2014 1:56 pm

Off to my second Little League game of the day. My 9-yr old's team got a walkoff 10-9 victory this morning. Fortunately this 12-yr old's game is in MY town. Go Yanks!

48 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 2:01 pm

wow, great fielding play by cap-guano!

49 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 2:18 pm

omg what the fuck was that?

50 mhoward120   ~  Jul 26, 2014 2:21 pm

Bases loaded, Thornton in to face lefties. The over-under is 2 1/2 runs allowed

51 mhoward120   ~  Jul 26, 2014 2:23 pm

There's 1

52 mhoward120   ~  Jul 26, 2014 2:25 pm

Despite the run, admirable job.

53 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 2:33 pm

[51] 1 run in that situation is practically an escape. Though we need to come up with our own runs now somehow.

54 seamus   ~  Jul 26, 2014 3:17 pm

oh geez that's the game right there. fuck.

55 mhoward120   ~  Jul 26, 2014 3:18 pm

(50). Of course, I meant to say Francis.
