Sunday Gravy

tumblr_noh5ruxfif1qbhl2oo1_1280

It’s a hot Sunday afternoon here in the Bronx. I can only imagine it’ll be hot out in Kansas City, too.

Chris Capuano, just called up from the minors, makes the start.

Never mind those ribs:

Miller loses his no hitter with two out in the ninth.

This has the potential to be a really bad inning (my thought before the latest hit).

Perhaps this is a silly question, but why is Stephen Drew ever in this line up instead of say, José Pirela or one of the ball boys.

It's "a business" when we let go of the best 2nd baseball the team has ever developed. It's a business when we cut ties with David Robinson. (Which now seems like an excellent decision.)

Stephen Drew has never been a good business decision. He doesn't sell Jerseys. he doesn't bring in fans. He can't play and he's not even interesting. What's keeping him in the line up…or on the team?

Boat, there is no answer. The quality of the division means that the Yanks will hang around all year. Beltran, Drew etc. will be among us.
Observe, enjoy, root but don't pay too much. They are just hoping to make a run and fill the seats. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's the state of the franchise right now.
