Nice to score first.

I know I said this yesterday and not to sound obsessive or anything but I really love these camera angles.

4 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 6:10 pm

Good hustle, Carlos!

5 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 6:10 pm

Good job Brian.

6 Alex Belth   ~  May 20, 2015 6:16 pm

Boy, I'll be happy when the Yanks leave this park. The camera angle is disconcertingly high.

7 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 6:17 pm

Oh, God.

8 Alex Belth   ~  May 20, 2015 6:18 pm

That was a bomb.

9 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 6:40 pm

Phew, Didi.

10 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 6:53 pm

Bryce Harper's OBP is .474???
Holy god.

11 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 6:53 pm

Harper tossed!

No one goes to the game to see you Blue.

12 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 6:55 pm

I think the Yankees have had some trouble with this particular crew too. Yeah, some of 'em don't really appreciate their own role in the game.

13 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 6:57 pm

I wanted to see Bryce Baby make out three more times!

14 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 6:58 pm

Hey!!
That was awesome.

Way to go, Wheels!

15 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 6:58 pm

Good job bunting Brian.

16 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 7:05 pm

Yeah, I think I'd start swinging at the close ones, if I were a Nat.

17 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 7:09 pm

Crap

18 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 7:09 pm

Nice swing, Mary.

19 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 7:09 pm

Aggggghhh!

20 Alex Belth   ~  May 20, 2015 7:09 pm

and with two strikes too.

21 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 7:15 pm

Who can turn the world on with his swing?

22 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 7:27 pm

[21] :)

23 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 20, 2015 7:40 pm

Looked at the ejection, seemed bogus..#umpshow likely.

24 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 7:44 pm

Spidi!

25 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 7:47 pm

I'm going to say it yet again: you shouldn't be allowed to review the tape and then decide if you're going to challenge. You should issue a challenge based on the naked-eye observation of either the player involved or an observer from the dugout.

To issue a challenge based on what some guy sees on the instant replay is absurd. If they allow that, there's absolutely no point in having umpires in the first place, they might as well decide everything based on observing the tape.

Meaning, there should be real risk involved in a challenge, it should be based on the same information the umpire had in making the call.

26 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 7:47 pm

Ugh.
The Replay giveth, and the Replay taketh away.

27 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 7:48 pm

[23] It's a situation you ignore, then go to the manager after the game and suggest he have a talk with Bryce. Maybe Bryce gets the next day off. Because it's a long campaign and players need a day off, yadda, yadda, yadda.

28 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 7:49 pm

[25] I agree

29 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 7:53 pm

[27] Player shouldn't mock the umpire. Look at Bryce's behavior after he questions the call. Ump says get back in the box and he leaps back in. He shouldn't be out of the box to begin with. Harper needs to grow up.

30 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 7:55 pm

Hmm, not good

31 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 20, 2015 7:55 pm

[29] Seems this ump and Harper have history..still seems a quick trigger. Ejecting star players for small infraction, not helping the game..

32 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 7:56 pm

Chase!

33 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 7:57 pm

Hah!

Bunting sucks, it really does. (Although it certainly was a logical situation to try it.)

34 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 7:58 pm

Oh, for fuck's sake!!

HOW DID THAT BALL FALL???

HE PULLED OFF IT!!!!

35 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 8:01 pm

Uh oh.

36 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 8:05 pm

I would have gone to Miller here. I'm afraid Wilson is going to walk in a run.

I know, I know.

37 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 8:05 pm

Or that.

38 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 8:05 pm

Of course.

39 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 8:05 pm

Not having a good feeling about this

40 RIYank   ~  May 20, 2015 8:07 pm

It was plainly the most important AB of the game, and it was a tough lefty batter. Miller was the right move.

41 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 8:14 pm

Could have been much worse

42 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 8:16 pm

What the hell, Brett? Awful AB

43 Mattpat11   ~  May 20, 2015 8:21 pm

I wonder how many people have made their MLB debut as a pinch stand there.

44 MSM35   ~  May 20, 2015 8:24 pm

Did anyone really think the Yanks had a shot tonight? Do we really have to watch Chris Young for the next few weeks? He is finding his level.

45 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 8:36 pm

[44] I did. I always do.

46 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 8:39 pm

Nice Esmil

47 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 20, 2015 8:41 pm

A-Rod pinch-hit tater coming up.

48 MSM35   ~  May 20, 2015 8:41 pm

[45] I was hoping for 2 in Tampa, 1 in KC and 1 in DC. Still time for the last.

49 Mattpat11   ~  May 20, 2015 8:44 pm

Drew-Jones-Gregorius is certainly discouraging.

50 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 20, 2015 8:44 pm

How can Girardi let these guys bat in the 9th inning down by one run? Is he just giving up?

51 Mattpat11   ~  May 20, 2015 8:46 pm

[48]Kay sort touched on it, but the Yankees seem to have survived the real tough part of the schedule.

52 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 8:47 pm

Follow up with Pirela is not something I want at this stage.

53 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 8:47 pm

Another big chance for Alex.

54 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 8:48 pm

Hmm, curve

55 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 8:48 pm

Sucker pitch

56 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 8:48 pm

Shorten up, Alex.

Shorten the fuck up.

57 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 8:49 pm

That was not a fucking strike.

58 coleman42   ~  May 20, 2015 8:49 pm

High and inside

59 rbj   ~  May 20, 2015 8:49 pm

Oy!

Night all.

60 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 20, 2015 8:50 pm

[57] Gsameday has it borderline..very borderline...

61 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 20, 2015 8:50 pm

Man, this team's performance has been fugly.

Here's hoping we can right the ship in the Bronx.

62 MSM35   ~  May 20, 2015 8:55 pm

When you send up a .150 hitter to hit for a .255 guy in the ninth it says something. They don't think Young can hit a righty. I hope we don't see him too often in the next few weeks replacing Jacoby. Please put Refsynder or Pirela in the outfield.
