This kid throws pretty hard, huh?

Easy inning for Tanaka.

3 Dimelo   ~  Jun 3, 2015 2:54 pm

A TEXt message!

4 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:06 pm

Happy for Tex.

5 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:06 pm

Nice second inning to Tanaka, too.

6 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:15 pm

A triple?

7 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:20 pm

Afternoon, all.

8 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:22 pm

Hang in there, fella...

9 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:23 pm

Great throw!

10 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:23 pm

Nailed!

I'm liking this Flores kid.

11 Dimelo   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:25 pm

[10] Yeah I'm liking him, too.

12 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:30 pm

Nice throw, eh!

13 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:33 pm

Garrett!

14 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:34 pm

NOICE.

15 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:35 pm

Jonesie's hot!

16 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:44 pm

Well done. Wonder how long Tanaka will pitch today.

17 Alex Belth   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:54 pm

Man, his pitch count is low. He gets them through the 6th that's got to be considered a good day.

18 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:55 pm

His limit is 80 today

19 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 3:59 pm

Hey yos,
I'm stuck on Amtrak with an internet connection too crappy to watch the game. Looks pretty good on Gameday, and you guys seem enthusiastic about Tanaka's return.
WTF with Jones, by the way?? Lightning striking twice in two days, or has something changed? Because he was a baaaad hitter.

20 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:06 pm

Tanaka is on a roll.

21 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:06 pm

Ooh. What happen to McCann's foot?

22 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:10 pm

"Foot soreness"

23 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:19 pm

Excellent, Tanaka-san!

24 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:20 pm

[22] Thanks.

Wow, on an 80-pitch leash he dominated for seven innings. Kind of beyond my wilder hopes. I know, just the Mariners, but still.

25 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:22 pm

So this couldn't have turned out better for Tanaka, huh? Seven strong? I'll sign up for that every time out!

26 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:23 pm

Aw, Chase missed it bythismuch.

27 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:25 pm

Hi fellow banterers, just made it home to watch.looks like Tanaka - San has been dealing!

28 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:29 pm

Watch Capuano fuck it all up

29 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:29 pm

Don't screw up Capuano.

30 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:29 pm

And so it starts

31 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:30 pm

Bet ha Joe wishes he had Carpenter to still bring in about now

32 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:31 pm

So Capuono is a Dukie. No wonder I hate him.

33 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:33 pm

Can someone explain why Dellin isn't pitching right now? Not available because of last night?

34 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:36 pm

[33] Two nights in a row.

35 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:36 pm

I kind of like bringing in Miller (?)

36 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:37 pm

Miller in the 8th? Did Joe lose count of what inning this is? I mean it's a great call but Joe is deviating from his book.

37 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:38 pm

And so it continues. ...

38 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:38 pm

[34] Oh, right. Okay.
Yeah, nothing wrong with a 5-out save.
Uh. But that's not going to work.

39 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:39 pm

Uh oh.

40 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:40 pm

Hmm, not liking this development . . .

41 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:40 pm

Great moves Joe

42 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:40 pm

He has no idea where the plate is.

43 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:40 pm

WTF! Strikes!

44 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:40 pm

Shoulda let Tanaka start the 8th

45 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:41 pm

I mean, he's not getting close. Seven pitches in a row, not close.

46 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:41 pm

2 strikes 8 balls so far.

47 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:42 pm

This is gonna make this whole series seem like shit

48 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:42 pm

CHOKING...

49 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:43 pm

Excellent K. Need another.

50 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:43 pm

Wow. I would like to have seen that!

Okay, one more...

51 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:45 pm

Phew!

52 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:45 pm

Just kidding folks. Didn't that seem almost like a vintage Mo 9th?

53 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:46 pm

So no problem.

54 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:46 pm

Whew!

Man.

Until that ground out, the only time a bat touched one of Miller's pitches was Weeks' foul ball.

55 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:46 pm

Well that was exciting.

56 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:47 pm

Well done. We'll not really but at least done without damage. Think he'll be back for the 9th or is it Betances time?

57 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:49 pm

How 'but HRS from both sides?

58 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:50 pm

Can I assume some of you are watching on YES? For some reason my AtBat app isn't allowing to watch that feed, which has never happened before. I'm watching the Seattle feed.

59 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:53 pm

By the way, I don't necessarily remember thinking this last season, but watching Cano in this series really made me miss him. I know some decried the lack of hustle, but I just love his style of play. Everything about him is so smooth -- the swing, the fielding, the sidearm throw across his body. I know it's of his own doing, but I feel sorry for him. He should've been paying attention as they were honoring Rivera last year. If he had stayed in pinstripes, he'd have had a day like that.

Of course, the way things are going now, they still might retire his number. Or maybe Chris Young's.

60 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:53 pm

[58] yes.

Millers 8th reminded me of Robertson more than Mo.

61 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:54 pm

Hank... you are so right!

62 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:55 pm

[60] Hm, yeah.
Or Wetteland.

63 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:55 pm

So Miller looking for 5 out save...

64 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:56 pm

One down.

65 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:56 pm

Cano..sigh....

66 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:56 pm

Robbie just does not look like he should be looking.

67 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:56 pm

Holy smokes.

Man, Miller is quite a pitcher.

68 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:56 pm

[59] I agree totally on Cano. Loved that flip throw from behind 2nd, makes it effortlessly.

69 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:57 pm

How is he doing it??
Remember, I'm watching Gameday only. He's now throwing pitches in the middle of the strike zone and Rob and Nel are watching them.

70 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:57 pm

Two down

71 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 4:58 pm

Dealin' Andrew

72 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:00 pm

Seriously, why are they not swinging at pitches in the middle of the zone??

73 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:00 pm

Aha. Ruggiano flails at a slider in the zone. Maybe that's why.

74 rbj   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:01 pm

Three down!

75 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:02 pm

Unbelievable.

I'll be home in a couple of hours and I'm definitely cuing this one up, just to watch Miller's performance.

76 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:02 pm

Get out the brooms!

77 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:02 pm

Nice job, let's get on the plane and come home!

78 Hank Waddles   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:02 pm

Lights out.

79 mhoward120   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:02 pm

Clearly, Andrew was just fucking with their heads.

80 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:02 pm

That game was a beaut. Save the 8th.

81 coleman42   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:03 pm

[75] you'll be biting your nails watching even though you know the outcome.

82 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:04 pm

These yanks are so tough to figure. Sweep KC then stink in LA then sweep Seattle. Consistency thy name is not Yankee.

83 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jun 3, 2015 5:22 pm

Sweepness in Seattle! Just saw the highlights. Nice throw by Flores to home to gun down the go ahead run at the time. Tanaka looked great, and Jones two big flies in two games. Much better game than yesterday. It will be a good flight home, and day off tomorrow.

84 RIYank   ~  Jun 3, 2015 6:21 pm

[82] Yes, for unusually northern values of 'LA'.
