What Next?

joe

Gotta figure the Yanks are going to do more than bring in Dustin Ackley.

We wait, we wonder.

Meanwhile, the Yanks’ve got a game tonight.

Never mind checking Twitter:

Ok, I said this on the last thread, but I'll repeat it in case anyone has any thoughts.

If the Yanks aren't going to trade Luis Severino, then I think now is the perfect time to bite the bullet and call up Luis Severino until Pineda gets back.

I guess the real danger is the Yankees adopt some "Luis Rules" and we get to go through a repeat of Joba Chamberlain.

[1] A-yup. Cavalry ain't coming, kid. Time to step up.

4 rbj   ~  Jul 30, 2015 7:19 pm

Ugh, 101 at 7 pm local. Only hit 91 in the afternoon here. With a nice lake to jump into.

5 rbj   ~  Jul 30, 2015 7:23 pm

More runs, please

CC is just not a good pitcher.

7 rbj   ~  Jul 30, 2015 7:39 pm

CC, let's go behind the barn and talk about the rabbit farm we want to have . . .

8 MSM35   ~  Jul 30, 2015 7:44 pm

I have no answer to this but when does CC go to the stud farm? He really cannot pitch at this level anymore.

9 seamus   ~  Jul 30, 2015 7:49 pm

yep cc is done. His 5+ era alone should help make that obvious. And his struggles go back multiple years at this point.

I'm so very happy that Tex is doing great. I appreciate A-rod's contributions but I don't like the guy. I've always liked Tex and am happy he is doing well.

Of course we'll know for sure what happens tomorrow re: the other MLB pitching candidates but I say plug Warren into CC's spot and bring up the kid. Hell maybe this is a blessing. If Pineda really only has a forearm issue and heals up, maybe we keep his innings in check after all and he's a stud in the post season.

12 Evil Empire   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:08 pm

As for CC just slide him into long relief.

13 Evil Empire   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:15 pm

[10] I wanted the Yankees to eat Arod's contract and release him. So I hope you believe me when I say I didn't like him. But he's been humbled and seems contrite. I pull for him now and not just because he's got the NY on his chest. Hell, he did his time. I'm not advocating for HOF entry but I've forgiven his hubris.

[12] It's easy to say but CC makes 20+ million a year. Hard to make the highest paid pitcher a mop up guy.

15 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:27 pm

[14] What does it matter what he makes? The man can't hold a lead (even if that one was on Ellsbury).

16 MSM35   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:29 pm

[14] That's what we say but obviously they don't see it that way or he would have been out before this. That was a terrible play!

17 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:34 pm

Maybe they think he'll "turn things around" if only they leave him in to "battle through his problems."

18 MSM35   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:42 pm

Taking him out of the rotation is a management decision and I don't mean Joe.

19 thelarmis   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:44 pm

I agree with Evil - Warren back to the rotation, CC out of it, and call up Luis.

Ok, back to teaching!

20 thelarmis   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:45 pm

Then again, Warren has an innings limit...

21 mhoward120   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:46 pm

I figured it out - CC stands for Chris Capuano.

22 rbj   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:47 pm

Splitting on the road in the hot Texas nights is not so bad. .500 on the road and all.

23 rbj   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:49 pm

So many ML debuts tells me the brass had written this season off and just wanted to see what they had for 2016.

24 mhoward120   ~  Jul 30, 2015 8:51 pm

Please take him out before its 9-5.

25 MSM35   ~  Jul 30, 2015 9:10 pm

[23] Not at all. They have older players and are trying to build a new core. That is the only way to have a long period of success. Rebuilding while contending is the hardest thing and they are doing well at it.

26 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 30, 2015 9:14 pm

Yaaay, Teix!!!

27 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 30, 2015 9:33 pm

OHHHH, DREW!!! WTF Was that!!!! FUCKING HELL!

And please be all right, Didi.

Jesus, what a disaster.

Why the fuck did Drew go to second. Jesus Christ.

28 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 30, 2015 9:43 pm

Way to get out of that inning, Dellin. Nice pitching.

29 thelarmis   ~  Jul 30, 2015 9:52 pm

mhoward - that CC comment is hilarious!

30 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 30, 2015 10:33 pm

Man, Ellsbury! Nice fucking play.

31 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 30, 2015 10:42 pm

Dog shit loss. Really bad. To come away with a split here is a real letdown.

32 MSM35   ~  Jul 30, 2015 10:47 pm

I was hoping for a 6 and 4 road trip. No need to get greedy. Sale and Jeff S. are not in line to pitch for the Sox and neither is CC.

33 thelarmis   ~  Jul 30, 2015 10:54 pm

Leadoff walk sucked. Is this when we go into a tailspin and let the season get away from us?

34 thelarmis   ~  Jul 30, 2015 10:55 pm

Also, the Ackley acquisition is a bunch of pointless bollocks.
