Tonight, we start to right the ship.

2 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:24 pm

Bleah

3 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:24 pm

Goddammit!

4 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:28 pm

Damage limited.

5 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:30 pm

Good job, kid. That's all they get. Now lose the Hughes disease (25+ pitch inninings).

6 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:43 pm

Hmm, not liking this

7 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:46 pm

'Ohayo!' from sweltering Japan!
Cleveland radio guys are so bad I've switched to Ma & Pa. Had to bail after their lead guy spent 10minutes talking about Wilma Keefer from Alderton,Ohio and her great family...yawn...

How nice was that DiDi play?

8 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:46 pm

What a play! Sigh...

9 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:47 pm

Looks like Indians figured Severino out

10 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:52 pm

[7] Amazing. I thought it was going to be an infield hit, not a DP.

11 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:53 pm

C'mon , Drew. Do SOMETHING.

12 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:54 pm

What a bust.

13 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:55 pm

I love me some Didi.

14 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:57 pm

Ryan takes first 2 called strikes, then swings/misses 3rd strike. Looks like Gardner...

15 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:58 pm

Ian Eagle is doing this game with Cone? Is this his first Yankee game?

16 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:59 pm

Ugh.

17 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:59 pm

15) No, it's the kid. He's much better with Coen than he was with Flaherty.

18 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 6:59 pm

Oh, possibly Ryan Ruocco. Who? Lol...

19 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:02 pm

[17] cheers. Shite! Continued batting practice.

20 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:03 pm

Oy.

21 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:04 pm

Good strike out there.

22 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:09 pm

Nicely done, the kid works out of trouble.

23 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:12 pm

I didn't get to see Severino first time out.
The pitches actually look pretty good. Location, not so much.

24 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:12 pm

Holy shit!

25 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:13 pm

Goodness, what a throw. Amazing.

26 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:14 pm

Nasty pitch. That aside, Alex is starting to slump some.

27 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:19 pm

2 quick outs. How about a third?

28 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:23 pm

Uh, fellas. A run. Remember that? Though when Carrasco looks this sharp.

29 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:28 pm

We need an Amber Alert for the Yankees bats.

30 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:29 pm

I see why the Yanks like this young man. He looks like a good one. Carrasco has been sharp of late and the Yanks are the perfect opponent just now.

31 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:33 pm

Very nice couple of innings here for Looey Luis.

32 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:33 pm

Much better, Sevvy.

33 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:34 pm

29) Didn't realize how good Carrasco was in his previous 2 starts. This looks like a real case of bad luck for the Yanks. But down 2 runs isn't insurmountable. How about a big, back-from-the-dead comeback?

34 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:38 pm

That's one.

35 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:38 pm

Nice job, Drewski.

36 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:38 pm

Hey, a whatchamacallit! And from Drew, no less

37 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:38 pm

That was pretty.

38 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:39 pm

What???

Do my eyes deceive me?

39 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:39 pm

Our first run in, like, two weeks, right?

40 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:41 pm

What has happened to Ellsbury?

41 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:46 pm

I love Brett, but there's that one part of his game that's hard to take: when he watches six pitches go by, three of them for strikes. Swing. Occasionally.

42 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:49 pm

[41]Agreed.

Ma & Pa having some real geezer chat now about 'back then guys pitched 300 innings with no pitch counts'. Funny though, I think they're better than they used to be overall, great chemistry and fair enough with the game-calling.

43 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:54 pm

Another nice performance by Severino. Like to see him go 7, even 8, but not bad.

44 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:55 pm

Good job, Sevvy. Now, if only the bats cane wake up.

45 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:55 pm

42) Which is funny because Cone and Ryan just had a very level, sophisticated, and balanced conversation about saber metrics.

Yeah, what has happened to Ellsbury. Good question.

46 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:56 pm

Not too shabby a start.

47 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:57 pm

Nice job, Alex. Base hit is a start. No double plays now, boys.

48 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:57 pm

One of the announcers correctly pointed out that several of the young Indians players probably had seen Sev in minor leagues, so Indians may have had a more accurate scouting report than Red Sox. Nonetheless, another good outing, 2 runs in 6.

49 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:57 pm

I think the Yanks have a good one here. Impressed that he speaks English well enough at such a young age. Shows that he is a smart kid. Once he gets more experience we will have a number one starter. If he stays healthy.

50 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:58 pm

Shit luck. Just shit.

51 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:59 pm

Fuck a duck.

52 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:59 pm

Bollocks.

53 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:59 pm

Oh fer gosh sakes.

54 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 7:59 pm

You have got to be kidding me. Well smashed ball is a DP?

Snake bit, I tells ya.

55 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:05 pm

He saw a mark. And it was Boggs. Ha!

56 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:06 pm

Baseball history says this should turn around and even the Jays will lose eventually. Just saying.

57 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:09 pm

Atta baby!

58 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:09 pm

Yes!

59 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:10 pm

They've been hitting the ball hard all night. Finally!

60 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:10 pm

Got to win this sucker.

61 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:12 pm

Dang, I should go and refresh my drink more often.

62 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:12 pm

Hey Drew, how about a double dip?

63 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:13 pm

0-1, Carrasco makes a mistake to Drew, breaking ball, bad location, but fooled him enough on speed, fouls it back.

64 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:21 pm

Dellin now and a score in the ninth. When a teams starts to turn it around they don't always win. Hope this is an exception.

65 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:21 pm

I'd wind up shooting that drum guy.

66 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:23 pm

[64] Wait, you hope it's an exception to what rule/pattern?

67 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:28 pm

Nice little inning for Dellin.

68 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:28 pm

Nicely done, Big D.

69 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:34 pm

Time for Ells to drop down in the order for a bit

70 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:36 pm

Ok gardi. Steal a base !

71 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:36 pm

Start the runner if he gets a head in the count.

72 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:37 pm

Brett's not going anywhere.

73 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:38 pm

Perfect throw.

74 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:38 pm

Dammit. Cant he steak anymore?

75 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:38 pm

Just make this chump nervous enough to groove one to Alex. No need to be crazy.

And just as I type that...

76 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:38 pm

Steal

77 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:38 pm

Well, an attempt at least.

78 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:39 pm

[74] Maybe he became a vegetarian.

79 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:39 pm

He was supposed to hit it.

80 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:39 pm

Well that was fruitless.

81 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:40 pm

Should the Yanks go all out to win this or save the pen?

82 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:42 pm

Crud.

83 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:42 pm

[80] Steakless.

84 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:43 pm

I don't understand JoeG's bullpen use these days. Shreve out aftr only 11 pitches. Why not let him go two, then Betances for 1+?

85 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:45 pm

[83] What's left? Tofu?

86 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:45 pm

[84] Yeah, I don't get it either. Does he think Betances loses a lot of effectiveness in his second inning? I doubt it.

87 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:48 pm

[86] I just hate that relievers only go one inning. 11 pitches is not too much, let the kid pitch! Betances, maybe you are right. He has been overused a bit..

88 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:48 pm

Joe always manages for the long term.

89 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:51 pm

Yikes.

90 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:51 pm

Free baseball!

91 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:51 pm

Tex well positioned!

92 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 8:52 pm

The evidence is that almost no relievers lose significant effectiveness after one inning. Since this is the highest leverage situation, it's definitely correct to use your best relief pitcher. So you can't use him tomorrow -- it's very unlikely you'll have as important a situation to use him in anyway.

Well, this one seems to have worked out so far!

93 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:00 pm

W.t.f?!

94 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:00 pm

I really really don't like watcing Brian McCann play baseball. He's just kind of..yuck.

95 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:00 pm

Good lord, McCann...

96 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:01 pm

No double play, Didi. Let's go. Little Bingo here.

97 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:02 pm

No, [92] I was wrong, the highest possible leverage to start an inning is the bottom of the ninth with the home team down a run. But a tie game is the runner-up.

98 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:02 pm

Oi! I'm can't take it. Score a fucking run!

99 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:02 pm

Dag. Young didn't get a good read.

Drew...? Let's go, Hoss.

100 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:03 pm

Fucking fly ball out will do, Drewski. Really. Get it in the air.

101 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:03 pm

Is there no one to pinch hit for Drew here?

102 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:03 pm

Hey, four, five hits, we should be able to score!

103 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:03 pm

90 feet away.

104 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:03 pm

Squeeze, squeeze.

105 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:03 pm

Squeeze! Deep fly. Passed ball. Anything!

106 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:04 pm

2-0...

107 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:04 pm

I'll take a sac fly

108 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:04 pm

[101] Headley, right? Or Jones.
But this is starting out well...

109 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:05 pm

Now 2-2. Shite.

110 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:05 pm

Fucking fuck.

111 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:05 pm

Aghhhhhhhhhhh!

112 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:05 pm

But it didn't finish well.

Nice play, though.

113 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:06 pm

Ah, saving Headley to PH for Ryan.

114 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:06 pm

Well . . . not a DP.

115 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:06 pm

The Yanks just ain't gonna win this one.

116 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:06 pm

Unreal that they let Drew bat REPEATEDLY in clutch situations.

117 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:07 pm

2-0 again.

118 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:07 pm

3-0. I'd take 2 strikes here if I'm Headley.

119 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:08 pm

I'll take a walk here.

120 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:08 pm

Okay, here we go!

Do you give Headley the green light? (No.)

121 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:08 pm

That 3-0 pitch looked close.

122 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:08 pm

Fuck that, it was ball 4. Now, Headley will whiff, you watch.

123 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:08 pm

Close your eyes and take, Chase.

124 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:08 pm

Oy.

Okay, all out of headroom, Headley. Payoff...

Nailed it!

125 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:09 pm

Chase!

126 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:09 pm

ONIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me of little faith!

127 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:09 pm

Yay Chase!

128 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:09 pm

That'll do ...whooooo to the fucking hoooooo.

129 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:09 pm

Oh ye [122] [123] of little faith!

130 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:10 pm

'You can Bank on Chase!' (Pa John)

131 MSM35   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:16 pm

Starting to turn around.

132 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:17 pm

Oh come on.

133 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:18 pm

Oh fuck, are you kidding me?

134 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:18 pm

Good fucking Christ.

135 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:19 pm

They could tie the game on outs now. Cripes.

136 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:20 pm

Not going to be easy.

137 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:20 pm

Miller needs a visit from Rothchild. It worked in the Boston game.

138 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:21 pm

Okay, that's a good out. The one run doesn't matter. Brantley didn't advance. They still need a hit to tie.

139 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:22 pm

[137] Miller looks good. The hits weren't hard...

140 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:22 pm

I thought that was headed for the gap.

141 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:22 pm

[140] That's because of your sunny, optimistic disposition.

142 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:22 pm

I have to say this. A Soul Sacrifice from Carlos Santana...

143 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:23 pm

Unbelievable.

144 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:23 pm

Motherfucker.

145 rbj   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:23 pm

For fucks sake.
Night all.

146 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:24 pm

Nice job.

147 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:26 pm

Miller off because he hasn't worked much in last week..

148 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:27 pm

[147] I honestly don't think he's off. Three soft hits.

149 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:30 pm

Ugh. Well, more free baseball, anyway!

150 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:30 pm

RIYank, back from touring Europe?

151 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:31 pm

[148] and 2 runs. Luis Gonzalez also had a soft hit off Mo in 01...

152 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:34 pm

Pop one, Alex!

153 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:35 pm

3-0 homer coming up.

154 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:35 pm

Or 3-0 taken or a strike. I could see that too.

155 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:35 pm

Brett shoulda stayed in bed today.

156 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:35 pm

Okay, got to pinch run for Alex, right?

157 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:36 pm

Uh oh, this could be an adventure.

158 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:38 pm

Who's left on the bench?

159 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:38 pm

Unfair when you drop in a curve like that.

160 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:38 pm

158) Clay Bellinger?

161 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:39 pm

[151] Did you think Torre should have pulled Mo?

[150] I wasn't really touring Europe. I was in northern Italy, then in Australia! And then in Maine. But back now, yeah.

162 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:40 pm

This is not going to end well.

163 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:41 pm

Wow, there is literally nobody left on the bench. I mean, just pitchers.

164 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:42 pm

What happened to Garrett Jones??

165 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:44 pm

Well, at least we have a pretty good long relief guy. But yeah, I'm not toooptimistic about this one, myself.

The Red Sox blow a 2-run lead and lose in extras, by the way.

166 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:45 pm

[161] Of course not! Point is Yanks lost WS on a soft hit. A hit is a hit...and when Miller is on, he gets strikeouts! Tonight he struggled. Let's hope we pull this one out.

167 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:47 pm

Nice read by Ellsbury and a nice catch.

168 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:48 pm

[161]big miles,
[164] he was DFA'd but resigned last week. I thought he was on the 25 roster?

169 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:48 pm

[166] Miller did get strikeouts. He struck out two guys.

My point is: when pitchers are "on", nobody hits the ball hard. Then whether the soft ones are hits or not is just luck. Just like on that grim day in October 2004.

170 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:50 pm

[168] Yeah, I logged a crapload of frequent flyer miles! Not to Maine, though.
I thought so too. I looked at Gameday and they list the bench as empty. But Gameday is not all that reliable.

171 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:50 pm

I thought the Mo game referred to was October 2001?

172 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:52 pm

Mitchell warming up. Can't Warren go 2?

173 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:52 pm

He'll strike Didi out on another curve.

174 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:53 pm

Hey, way to anticipate the breaking ball and go the other way, Didi. Lovely piece of hitting there!

175 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:54 pm

Drew again...

176 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:54 pm

Missed it.

177 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:54 pm

Do it, Didi. Pretty oppo hits tonight.

178 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 9:55 pm

Boy, we're up late for some disappointment, eh?

179 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:00 pm

And so it's Mitchell.

180 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:00 pm

I wonder why. Why can't Warren pitch several innings?
I really don't get it.

181 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:02 pm

Brantley, tough out, late on 2 fastballs here.

182 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:03 pm

Wow, doubles up on the curve ball and gets him swinging. Impressive. Stay focused, now, B.

183 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:04 pm

I'm a crowd of one. I thought my Soul Sacrifice comment about the baseball player Carlos Santana was funny.

184 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:05 pm

Time for a itty bitty run.

185 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:06 pm

Nice.

186 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:07 pm

Smooooth.

187 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:08 pm

Robbery.

188 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:10 pm

Rough night at the plate for Gardner.

189 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:10 pm

Gardner 0-5. That's rare.

190 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:10 pm

Well fuck this fucking game.

191 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:10 pm

Yeah, our first two batters a combined 0-11 (with a BB for Brett).

192 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:12 pm

Slow torture.

193 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:12 pm

Cleveland has a good bullpen.

194 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:13 pm

I mean is it sooooo late? 11:13?

195 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:14 pm

[193] Our line up has been making all pitchers look good this past week, though.

196 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:24 pm

Man, the 2-2 pitch was close.

197 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:24 pm

Nice! Onward.

198 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:26 pm

Lucky 13, right?

199 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:26 pm

Nice try, dude. My feed is a minute behind live.

200 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:27 pm

207 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:34 pm

14th, this will be a tough one to lose.

Some good heckling being picked up by the WFAN mics for Ma & Pa, respect to those staying for the whole game.

208 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:34 pm

I've resisted all night, but I will have a drink now.

209 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:37 pm

Where's that pitch, Blue?

210 thelarmis   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:38 pm

I'm listening to the Indians feed on the radio in the car.

Is Mitchell getting squeezed?

211 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:39 pm

I envy you guys, extra innings game late into a Hot August Night. I'm still at my desk at ACME Investigations.

212 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:40 pm

Hmmmmmmm.
I feel the end coming.

213 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:41 pm

[210] Hm, maybe. I thought the strike zone was big a few hours ago. But not seriously squeezed.

214 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:41 pm

[211] the coyote did it.

215 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:41 pm

Great K!

216 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:42 pm

Brantley again. Methinks this one is over.

217 thelarmis   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:43 pm

The tribe announcer makes it sound like Mitchell is getting squeezed. Good to know.

218 thelarmis   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:43 pm

Pinder warming...

219 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:44 pm

227 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:49 pm

Happy not to be sad. Can this team score?

228 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:52 pm

Didi and Stevie seem to be in a hurry to get back out onto the field.

229 RIYank   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:53 pm

Ugh.
I guess that does it for me. Still hoping, but see youse tomorrow.

231 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:54 pm

The o doesn't want their last pitcher's arm to get cold, obviously.

232 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:57 pm

Pinder good for 2 innings?

233 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:57 pm

Lots of hard hit outs early. More soft outs late.

234 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 10:58 pm

Tanaka Smiles!

235 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:00 pm

236 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:01 pm

Nice job, Pinder. OK. Sweet 16. Ellsbury and Gardner get it going. Right? Right?

237 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:03 pm

John & Suzyn are really impressing me tonight. Not missing a beat in game calling and still bringing the great (awful) puns. Professionals.

238 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:04 pm

Top of the 16th.

Ellsbury (0-6):

Fastball inside, hits ump in the leg, ball 1.

Fastball over the plate, ground ball to short. Ellsubry hustles but so what? He's out easily.

239 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:05 pm

Just lost my YES feed, Verizon Fios

240 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:07 pm

Gardner (0-5, walk):

Fastball, called strike.

Something off speed, up high, ball 1.

Change, better, diving down, swung on and missed, 1-2.

Fastball, inside, 2-2.

Fastball--97 mph--outside, swung on and missed.

K.

2 out.

241 coleman42   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:07 pm

Guess I'll go to bed and move to radio. Weird, black screen, all other channels ok. Good night all.

242 thelarmis   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:08 pm

crap.

243 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:08 pm

A Rod (1-5, walk):

Fastball, just misses outside corner, 1-0.

(working quickly)

Fastball lined hard to left. Right at Brantley.

This game is bollocks. And I'm going to bed.

244 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:10 pm

248 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:12 pm

WFAN just gave an update on some Jets player cold-cocking their QB. Good to see the organization still in great shape!

C'mon Pinder!

258 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Aug 11, 2015 11:26 pm

I just saw this game in Cleveland, my first time at Jacobs Field. What a beautiful ballpark and what a great game (though we left after the eleventh or twelfth.
