2 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:19 pm

Holy meatballs.

3 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:20 pm

Not the start I was looking for.

4 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:21 pm

really, cc? this is how you're gonna treat andy?!

frick.

5 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:22 pm

Might be a long day for the pen.

6 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:22 pm

This Almonte AB is huge. I mean, we could be out of this game before we get to bat...

7 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:23 pm

Okay.
Still in it.

8 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:31 pm

fuck you, blue!

9 coleman42   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:34 pm

Fabulous speech by Andy!

10 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:39 pm

had andy stayed he'd be #1 on all those yankee categories. pretty frickin' amazing.

i'll have to watch video later. i did that for jorgie last night.

11 coleman42   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:41 pm

Andy also retired for 2011 then came back for another 2 years!

12 Evil Empire   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:42 pm

I see bad CC showed up again. I keep hoping he'll turn into 2008 Mike Mussina but then bad CC circa 2007 keeps showing up. It's really malfeasance to keep running him out there.

13 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:48 pm

[11] i love andy.

[12] i miss mikey moose.

14 coleman42   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:51 pm

Didi flailing at pitch like early in season.

15 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 12:57 pm

[14] yup. at least he worked a walk after...

16 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:01 pm

[13] According to Baseball-reference, they are umber one on each other's similarity score.

17 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:02 pm

cc causes a lot of frustration.

18 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:03 pm

[16] very cool!

19 Evil Empire   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:05 pm

[13] I miss great CC

[16] Andy and Moose?

20 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:06 pm

Ruh roh.

21 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:06 pm

[19] Yup.

22 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:06 pm

looks like CC's best pitch took everything out of him and now he's out of the game. guess we'll be sticking with a 5-man rotation.

unless, of course, andy comes back! : )

23 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:08 pm

Ugh....

24 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:16 pm

way to get on, rbj

25 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:17 pm

way to get in scoring position, rbj!

26 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:20 pm

I accept that walk.

27 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:21 pm

another good a-b by gritner.

really gotta make this "rally" stand up.

28 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:21 pm

beli had every right to be pissed in his last a-b. payback time!

29 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:22 pm

In fact, I'd have Beltran taking on the 3-0...

Ugh. Nope. But it was a pretty good cut, I have to admit.

30 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:22 pm

Just a deep sac fly

31 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:23 pm

just missed it.

would be cool if brett steals second...

32 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:24 pm

[31] ah, guess you can't really with that shift...

33 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:24 pm

Oh, nice!
Speed kills!

34 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:24 pm

But it helped!

35 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:25 pm

[31] Correct! [32] Incorrect!

36 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:25 pm

fuck yeah!

i LOVES it!!!

37 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:26 pm

Bad hands. E2? Absolutely stupid ruling by official scorer. Get a clue.

38 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:27 pm

mac got buckled on that. shouldn't have swung at two high and outside pitches though. didi did the same...

39 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:27 pm

[37] yeah, that was bollocks.

40 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:28 pm

crap.

at least we're on the board...

41 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:36 pm

Hoo boy.

42 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:37 pm

Whew.

43 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:49 pm

crap.

chase really sucking in the field too often this season.

44 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:51 pm

fuck yeah, boys!!

45 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:52 pm

Wow. Great play.

46 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:53 pm

the RI Special!

47 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:54 pm

cc - right knee bad again

48 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:56 pm

I did like it, but why does it get my name on it?

49 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:58 pm

[48] you're usually up in arms over IBBs.

50 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:59 pm

Nice. Bring in a righty to walk Gomes.

51 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 1:59 pm

Oh, I thought you meant the Brett Gardner dp!

52 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:00 pm

Yeah, that IBB was great. It puts Pinder in a perfect situation. And it seems to be paying off, just as expected.

53 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:01 pm

Ugh

54 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:01 pm

Oh, sweet.

Yeah, I dunno why I don't like the IBBs. Probably just some prejudice.

55 Evil Empire   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:02 pm

Is it too late to get James Shields?

56 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:02 pm

motherfucker.

57 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:03 pm

nice catch, rbj.

58 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:07 pm

(There are lots of plays I dislike, but none of them gets my sarcastic bile going like the IBB.)

59 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:10 pm

[58] and don't forget the old proverb:

man with four balls cannot walk!

60 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:13 pm

Can't believe the Yankees are being one hit by this guy.

61 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:27 pm

Jeez.
This has not been fun to watch. Except the part where we stole a run, that was fun.

62 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:31 pm

Yay, a second hit.

63 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:50 pm

Bauer walks Drew!
Surely he will pay for that. Surely.

Surely.

64 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:53 pm

Oh, ugly. Damn.

So, uh, now the pitcher bats in this ninth spot, right? I mean, since McCann has to catch?

65 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:55 pm

Not a fan of losing the DH

66 coleman42   ~  Aug 23, 2015 2:58 pm

Brett: Please swing

67 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:01 pm

[66] That strategy did not work.

68 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:05 pm

Carlos!

69 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:05 pm

Yay!

I ACCEPT THAT VERY CHEAP DOUBLE.

70 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:06 pm

BELI!!

71 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:07 pm

Ok. Tied. Guess the gym will have to wait.

72 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:07 pm

[70] UH OH, DID I FORGET TO CLOSE THE 'ALL CAPS' TAG?

73 Evil Empire   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:08 pm

Finally

74 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:08 pm

Oh, whew, I didn't.

75 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:11 pm

Uh oh.

76 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:13 pm

I love plays!
When the other team tries them, of course.

77 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:14 pm

Oy.
Goddam it.

I take Betances for granted.

78 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:15 pm

Thank god for the play, though.

79 Evil Empire   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:15 pm

fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

80 coleman42   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:27 pm

Homer time Didi

81 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:28 pm

Hm, yeah, giving up the DH when we're Tex-less and basically have no remaining hitters on the bench... maybe not so smart. Oh, Chris Young. So maybe that's okay.

82 coleman42   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:30 pm

Almost...

83 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:30 pm

Dang!
I got excited when the ball came off Didi's bat.

84 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:30 pm

fuck. i missed the lindor homer.

dammit. we really need to win this game. i'll be quite upset if we don't...

85 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:31 pm

8 runs after 2 innings between the blow jays and hatelos.

the the angels angels are winning thus far...

86 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:36 pm

drew strikes out on 3 pitches. chris young was on deck.

we really need a walkoff next inning...

87 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:38 pm

Oh, of course, Miller can't pitch without the lead.
Wait, really? That's just dumb. Did I miss something?

88 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:40 pm

This is BB day, for both teams.
Is that any way to honor Andy Pettitte??

89 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:41 pm

lefty on lefty 4 pitch walk.

90 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:45 pm

Righty on righty three pitch K...

91 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:46 pm

Running out of outs...

92 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:47 pm

And the Blue Jays take the lead.

93 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:48 pm

ARGH!

Was it? Looked wide. Probably was a strike.

94 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:48 pm

No, it was outside, just checked on Gameday.
Sunovabitch.

95 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:49 pm

Sigh.

Cruddy game. Not fun.

96 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:49 pm

FUCK YOU, BLUE!!!

97 thelarmis   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:50 pm

[92] holy shit.

their offense is insane.

98 RIYank   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:51 pm

[97] Yeah, well, they got the lead on an Aybar throwing error.
Still.

99 rbj   ~  Aug 23, 2015 3:51 pm

Well that sucked.

100 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Aug 23, 2015 6:04 pm

[100] Well, he was great no doubt, but, now we have...

Andy "Hardy" Pettitte the gullible, lovable PED user now in Monument Park. "Gee-whiz, my dad shot me in the butt with sumptin'. Dunno what it wuz."

So, according to the Yankee brass, if you do PEDs just a little bit and give a golly-gee apology it's A-OK, but if you do it a lot in a more scientific way and hire lawyers to defend yourself and lie about it, it's not OK.

Which is like saying, PED use is OK with us, just don't LIE about it, and hire lawyers to life for you, because true Yankees like Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth never lied.
