They called the game early yesterday and it was a good thing. It rained all day and into the night. Friday night wasn’t so much fun. Lance McCullers was nasty and the Astros cruised, 5-1.
Today gives Mother’s Day but also Derek Jeter Retirement Day at at the Stadium. And a day-night-double-header, to boot. Since it is Jeter’s Day—and who else but Jeter could get away with having his day on Mother’s Day?—of course the sun is shining, Simpsons clouds in the sky, a beautiful, crisp spring day. The green is full on, trees in bloom everywhere, just lovely.
I don’t care much for these kinds of ceremonies but if anyone was ever deserving it’s DJ. Meanwhile, let’s hope the Yanks celebrate him properly with 2 wins today.
Never mind the pink:
Let’s Go Yankees!
