On the Road Again

Esso Matchbooks

Derek Jeter Day came and went with the usual pomp (Andy and Paulie O looked trim and happy, Tino and Jorge, pinched, possibly furious, Bernie, plump like a Buddha). The Yanks split a double-header, coming from behind in the afternoon game (featuring yes another bomb from that man Judge) and getting smoked in the nightcap.

This much we know—the Astros are formidable.

Now, the fellas are out in K.C. to face the Roy-ales with Cheese.

Never mind the brisket:

Growing up in Franklin Lakes in a cul de sac, there was an Esso station. Jarring when it switched to Exxon

Hope CC can right the ship against the light hitting Royales.

Big props to Adam Jones for his response to Curt Shillbag, well done!

13 seamus   ~  May 16, 2017 8:18 pm

14 rbj   ~  May 16, 2017 8:20 pm

15 seamus   ~  May 16, 2017 8:21 pm

Back to being fun! Easy for CC. Chris Carter is always chill, it's sometimes infuriating, that HR looked like anything but off the bat, lazy 420 foot pop.

I looked at some old threads to catch up. rbj, I'm sorry about your employment set back. Many of us have been there. It's not what you do, but who you are that defines you. Good luck, it's also an opportunity.

Cy CC

Rats.

[16] Thanks. Yeah if things could work out I'd wind up a hour away from my parents, who are in their 80s. But things rarely work out

Man Escobar made a nice play there.

Yanks schedule over the next few weeks looks favroable, can they open up a bit of lead in the division?

21 seamus   ~  May 16, 2017 9:10 pm

Interesting point jazz. We've actually played a tough schedule to date and have still managed to do quite well. This next phase will tell us a lot.

[21] Can't believe I'm even considering it, given that all the pre-season projections had them as a .500 team..

23 rbj   ~  May 16, 2017 9:25 pm

Good call, Joe

24 rbj   ~  May 16, 2017 9:27 pm

Phew

25 rbj   ~  May 16, 2017 9:38 pm

Oh man, that was caught. Gotta have independent review there

26 rbj   ~  May 16, 2017 9:43 pm

Can only go by ruling on the field

27 rbj   ~  May 16, 2017 9:49 pm
