"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

Borough to Borough

Sonny Gray was terrific, Jacob deGrom, less so. And Aroldis Chapman—who came up gimpy—did not look good once again but the Yanks held on for a 5-4 win.

Thank you, Fellas.

Tonight, the Subway Serious shifts to Queens. Yanks are going to need to score a bunch tonight I figure.

We’ll be there root-root-rootin’ them on.

Never mind the Shake Shack:

12 rbj   ~  Aug 16, 2017 8:09 pm

Ugh

13 rbj   ~  Aug 16, 2017 8:11 pm

He's a mid rotation guy. And given four starters are on the DL, necessary

Is Chapman still going to be in his sneakers in the 9th?

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:07 pm

Oh, geez. I totally forgot about Chapman last night. Whoops.

22 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:10 pm

I hate when I miss a Judge homer.

It's Hammer time!

24 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:19 pm

Jeez, but Sanchez still needs work back there. It's as if his concentration wanders.

25 cult of basebaal   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:22 pm

True dat ... on passed balls.

He's actually average or above on everything else (framing, throwing, etc).

Also, he was much better in the 1st half with passed balls than he has been recently, bringing up the possibility that this is an effect of tiring out after a long season.

Meet the mets. Greet the mets. Come on out and beat the mets.

27 Alex Belth   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:24 pm

25) Excellent point.

Oh, and man, was that Judge homer ever sweet? I know he set the record for games with a consecutive K by a non-pitcher, but 2 more hits tonight, maybe he is coming out of it.

28 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:24 pm

[24][25] He's not even played one complete season yet in the majors, wish JoeyJoeJoe would leave him alone and focus on his awesome O and not whatever glove problems he has.

29 cult of basebaal   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:25 pm

NAILED!!

30 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 16, 2017 9:49 pm

Goddamn fucking sox game. 2 strike game winning 2 run double, FUCK.

31 Boatzilla   ~  Aug 16, 2017 10:22 pm

[28] I strongly concur. Without the Krakken's bat we don't win and Romine sucks at baseball. Blocking potential passed balls is all he really does.
