New York Minute

What would you rather do: Drive a bus or operate a subway train? I’d rather drive a bus for the simple reason that you wouldn’t have to deal with people jumping on the tracks.  But a bus driver’s job can’t be easy and depends heavily on which route he or she is working.

Oh man, yeah I guess bus. I don't want to deal with traffic for a living though. I think you need to be very patient to be a good bus driver. Subway suicides would freak me out. And at rush hour, with people holding the doors and the mobs, I think that would get very frustrating. When you get a passive subway operator, and they don't forcefully instruct people to get in and out of the train at rush hour, you can wait all night. Though I've noticed that things are much better the last few years in that regard.

And those double buses must be rough. A line like the BX 1, which runs up and down the Concourse must be hell.
