Yeah, I ran into this recipe just a day or two ago and I knew I'd seen it mentioned somewhere but couldn't remember where... so it was here!
I love the recipe, but can I just say that I am not at all convinced that (as Kristen says) "fresh tomatoes are really just better"? Okay, maybe right at peak tomato season, in September, if you find great plum tomatoes. But at any other time, those San Marzano canned tomatoes beat even fresh ones.
