Quote of the Day

“Any man who can write a page of living prose adds something to our life, and the man who can, as I can, is surely the last to resent someone who can do it even better. An artist cannot deny art, nor would he want to. A lover cannot deny love.”

Raymond Chandler

I find that so many artists want to deny folks who do it completely differently from them. I'm so tired of hearing people proclaim "That's not _____ ('art', 'music', 'dance' etc). Get over yourselves, I say. If someone creates something as a work of art, it is. Doesn't mean you have to like it, but get over your ign'ant, insecure selves and stop disrespecting the act of creation itself with your all-knowing b.s. proclamations about what true art is.

... Sorry, just had to get that out of my system.

Carry on.
