It’s Ivan Nova vs. John Lackey tonight.
Eduardo Nunez SS
Curtis Granderson CF
Robinson Cano 2B
Mark Teixeira 1B
Nick Swisher RF
Eric Chavez 3B
Jesus Montero DH
Chris Dickerson LF
Austin Romine C
Never mind nuthin’:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
I think that's actually less of a house money lineup than the 1st game featured.
In any case, let's hit hope they hit Lackey early and often, break the Red Sox's spirit and get the kid his 17th.
Gee even the Angels are breathing down Boston's neck.
getting on an air plane Saturday afternoon in NYC and getting off the plane Sunday night in Tokyo and then finding out when you finally log on that the Yanks have won two games against the sox? not a bad way to start a day.
Mr OK Jon Tokyo.
And not just 'won'. Dominated them.
but for a string of walk-off/extra inning hearbreakers, this might be the best september i can remember for the yanks.
 Yo Jon, Welcome to Japan!
GREAT way to wake up on a Monday morning, and WELL DONE AJ!!!
Time to get grub and settle in for Game 2.
If the Rays and Sox finished tied, how is it broken? Best head-2-head record or a playoff game?
Looks like the Angels are about to implode themselves right out of the playoff picture.
Blew a 5-2 lead in the top of the 9th.
Wow ... JD Drew back in the Sox lineup.
7) If it ends in a tie they play a one-game playoff in Tampa.
If the Yanks go win this one, the Rays-Yanks series will start with a deadlock for the wild card. What is their mindset at that point? Interesting.
Abreu at the plate to try and save the Angels' season.
Good start for Nova
I assume we'll see another House Money lineup tomorrow and then the regulars for the final 2 games to get ready for the game on Friday.
Pena, Golson, Singleton, Romine, Betances. Got to respect the game!
I only just noticed that JD Drew is playing. This is a rare treat!
Oh, boy. This is priceless.
Yes, Mark! And it's a full blown melt down for Beantown.
I'm sorry but watching the Red Cocks, I swear I hear Three Blind Mice playing in the background
Is it wrong to laugh?
If you don't laugh you'll shart
Mr OK Jazz, it is a pleasure to get to watch this with you instead of your showing up at the end. I'm happy you get to see it.
Quick dinner and it's already 3-0. Nice! Maybe this run will inspire another Jimmy Fallon/Drew Barrymore movie.
Man. Praise Jesus. Smashes one oppo but foul and then pulls in his hands and rips it down the left field line. Nasty!
Beautiful hitting by the Jesus. Horrible base running.
And then there's his immediate Jorgie impression. Fuck.
Turned it on just as Tex's ball hit the fence. What a hoot!
Nice piece of hitting by Romine.
The Red Sox hate Jesus.
Man, it would be nice to chase Lackey early. One big hit right now.
And so it was, when Jesus had ended these at bats, that the people were astonished by his hitting.
But not by his base running. At least not in a good way.
 Thanks, RIYank, likewise!
When they're on the ground, you step on their necks.
i will be in Tokyo for the first game of the alds, i think,
will they show that on reg tv? Or do I need to find a place to watch it?
I don't think the ALDS will be on NHK (national network) but check the channel NHK-BS1. If you're at a larger hotel they will have all the various NHK satellite and cable channels.
Sports bars will be showing it as well I'm sure.
MLB.com just had a car commercial with who I think was the main singer from hair-metal band Poison..am I imagining this?
It's Romine. I thought Montero might get a chance to catch.
i didn't see it, but i imagine there's a very good chance you're right. bret michaels has been very popular the last coupla years, i think. i don't follow him at all, but i think he had (has?) a successful (and very stoopid) 'reality' show and that poison is still around and touring. the drummer has some kind of gear company and has ads in some drum magazines...
 Thanks MOKJT!
so, we've got a rock guy and a latin music guy. i think that combination can go quite well!
The baby walks!
rock 'n roll
walking bass line, for swing.
oh, and poison.
we are definitely covering our musical bas(s)es here!
 Yeah, it's totally Bret Michaels.
WTF he's selling SUVs, I've got no idea.
Still not as bad as the Jenny McCarthy ads ...
Don't even know how to process that Poison are still around..though am sure they could still sell out here.
Jon, google Legends Sports Bar or Tokyo Sports Cafe too if you want to watch with people. There is also the very expensive "MLB CAFE" in Ebisu, which amazingly last year did NOT show live MLB games, only replays at night..veyr odd.
um, that's not good.
Wow, Swish really misplayed that. Holy shit.
damn you, nancy!
Watch your lips! One of my favorite sayings.
51) Yeah, easier said than done but he botched it.
Left that first pitch up too against 'Tek.
I'm a little worried. Nova is serving up pitches.
Didn't make much of an effort to get away from that one, did he?
Yeah, he's losing control, I feel like.
Has Jason Varitek gained a ton of weight?
Going back to 1976 is going back a ways? Hey you kids, get off the damn lawn.
 Like hitting a potted plant.
Dangerous AB here.
Weak ground ball to second. Onions.
Hey, where's the Score Truck (tm) at?
Seriously, we haven't scored nearly enough runs against the slack-jawed mouth-breather for my tastes.
65] Double digits.
Settle down, Ivan.
Nova seems to be getting his pitches up.
C'mon rook, bear down.
I think he was distracted by Crawford.
Get somebody up.
As much as I really sort of don't care, I still don't want to lose.
Big challenge here for NOva.
74) I wish I could not care but I's do, I's DO.
On NESN, we get to see many shots of Clay Buchholz spitting.
Hey, that was a strike. That ball three call. Damn.
I want to win, I want to be the stake in their heart, but if we lose, I'll immediately be over it.
Oh, Robbie. : (
Thank god it was fatty.
But Oh, Rob!
That kinda stinks
Ugh Robbie wtf!
I believe Crawford will score.
Well, Tex just saved a tied game.
I was right. But nice fucking play.
I'd also rather not lose to John Lackey
Teix so good with the glove. How do the defensive metrics rate him?
The Red Sox have a lot of tiny players. More than their share.
Well that's one way to do it.
Tagged him right in the cubes.
Yeah!Sit down, Pony!!
Oh my god.
Good, because I thought Robinson was going to have the biggest embarrassment of the inning.
JUST LIKE THEY PLANNED IT!
Wait, midget tried to jump the tag? Lol
C'mon knock this bum out of the fuggin game.
Wow, the Pony was made a gelding there.
That was unusual...
I wonder if this start will get them to give Ugly a post season start
wtf happened? with both robbie and pony?
it says: midget fucker out at home on "runner's fielder's choice." i'm not sure i've ever seen that before...
not that great for some reason. but uzr isn't good for 1st basemen or catchers. but the metric don't seem to love tex, robbie or grandy, for some reason...
wild pitch bounced off wall back to Martin who dove to tag pony but pony jumped so he tagged pony in his groin.
I just dislike defensive metrics in general.
and forgot, Robbie whiffed on a routine grounder but it hit his glove, only went a few feet and still got steroid papi at first. Would have been a dp.
 oh, wow. cool, thanks.
 yeah, i'm with you.
so...what did robbie do???
 oh, i see. thanks man!
and btw, seamus - my screen name links to my website now, if ya wanna check it out...
What exactly does Girardi need to see to know that Nova is cooked? Fucking idiot.
Marco Scutaro hits like Barry Bonds against the Yankees. Why?
i really don't wanna lose to this team for the 12th fucking time this season...
Hi, I'm Joe Girardi. I'm a stupid fucking moron.
Seriously, FUCK YOU GIRARDI.
no. not vagitek. i fuckin' hate that giant bag o' douche.
Yanks deserve to lose this one. And if they do, Giradi lost it right here.
oh cool thanks, I most certainly do.
Yeah nova needs a rest.
Unbelievable. Just un-fucking-believable.
Nova'd been elevating since the 5th, barely escaped with the lead in the 6th and did JoeyJoeJoe even have somebody warming???
Of course not.
If this game really mattered, do you think we would leave Nova in just so we can get the awful Boone Logan a lefty matchup?
When did I become the calm, rational one?
122) It's just irritating is all.
 Are End of Times coming?
Irritating or irritated? Or both? :)
My guess is Girardi wanted to see if nova could correct it. And since this game doesn't matter that's fine with me, in fact, I'd do the same. Remember were still trying to figure out what we'd have if we threw nova out there in post season.
Romine is catching. If it was Martin, the Pony would have probably suffered a prolapse.
Boone to Mattpat: awful that, sucka.
whoops my bad. Thanks for correction.
I do wish Nova could have left on more of a high note. For that reason I wish Joe had taken him out.
good job, boone!
Much like Burnett earlier, I think we'd have been better off if Logan spit the bit.
But Boone has been a very good pitcher. He's had a couple of bad stretches, but he's also had some really good ones.
Did I miss an announcement on Rothschild? Where the fuck has he been tonight?
Was he sent home for something?
Because agreed on everything you said in - I'm thinking I must have missed something because there better be a damn good reason Larry has been awol.
Please also tell me Coney nuttiness aside, they're not really thinking of making AJ the #3, right?
OK rally! Make it hurt.
Let's see if the Yankees have the will to come back in this game. Stomping on the Sox is more of the fans desire.
Nova prolly needed Martin there to help him through the third lineup cycle.
I like Eric Chavez.
Love Lackey's reaction.
He gives up way too many extra base hits to lefties. for my taste
 Eric the Great! ; )
C'mon Jesus. I BELIEVE!
Wait , no sarcasm? I think you and I may be the only ones who think he is potentially very useful.
If he didn't slide, think he would have gotten to third?
Nice job today Salty.
He has been mostly good, sometimes great, and a few time ineffective.
i hope gritner gets to 50 stolen bases.
he's at 48
C-Dick tie the game. Please.
 C-Dick tie the game!
Go eat some rocks, Lackey.
So if Chavez is out, should Alex come in for him?
 i'm a-gonna go eat some pizza in a few minutes. : )
BTW, very impressive website, and body of work. You are obviously an academic in the art of Jazz and Rock percussion.
Yankees tie the game. Let's see what the Sox have anything left in the tank. This non-pressure baseball watching can be interesting.
Do they just stay with Boone here or go to Soriano?
 Oh yeahhh!
Anyone on Rothschild?
I've been irrationally fuming about him not going out to the mound until realizing I haven't seen any shots of him and thinking something must be up.
 I'm guessing Laird?
If he's not there, I'm sure Harkey is.
thelarmis, I didn't realize you linked your tag now, well done! Going to order the cd next week, stand by!
Lousy 0-2 pitch.
BOOOOOO on 0-2?!
Yes! Eat it, Crawford.
Wow. Thought he was safe
He was not
Ooooh. He was safe, no?
NICE. Like the crowd says "Boston sux!"
I'm lovin' it!
Romine earned his greens on that throw. Crawford was out by two feet.
Damn. Our scrubs can throw.
I missed most of the first game today to see Moneyball with the wifey. Wish I had watched the game...
 It was awesome.
Now, THAT was nice.
Nice to see Big Sloppy casually jogging down to 1st base on that groundball. Gritner woul have been on 2nd.
C'mon, one run, okay, maybe a couple, and then Mo.
174) Moneyball wasn't any good?
"Sweet Child Romine"! fri FauxJSterling on twitter.
thanks, ken boyer - much appreciated!
and, yeah, you had found me earlier, i was just ignoring my name thing, 'coz i wasn't ready to reveal here yet! i'm still gonna go by my screen name here...
if anyone here is interested in the jazz-rock stuff, there's a link to my fusion trio on the homepage...
thanks, man! your support means a lot to me. whenever is good for to pick up a disc, i've got one here ready to mail out...
Alright, it's about time Robbie ripped one into the RF stands.
I wouldn't say it wasn't any good, but I didn't love it. My wife did, and I think the rest of the audience did (near or at 100% women, presumably because the Sox and the Pats were playing this afternoon). I thought it was kind of talky, which is par for the course from Sorkin, and not all that compelling. No mention of the other reasons the A's were good in 2002, like the left side of the infield or the starting pitching. That said, I'm glad I saw it, it had some very cool moments, but I would have rather watched the Yankees beat the Sox.
To the 9th!
If this goes into free baseball territory, do Yanks just put in all scrubs?
here we go...
I think both teams already have, with all the pinch runners.
Ah, the dreaded non-save Mo.
"Boston sucks" is very lame.
Mo? Not like he needs the work.
J.D. Drew..missed over 200 games since signing with the Sox.
I hate to say it, but this is not my favorite batter here.
Of the many reasons I am grateful for being a Yankee fan, one is that the stadium generally only erupts into the "Boston Sux" chant when the Yankees are actually playing the Sox.
I still hate this IBB.
IBB to Scutaro? Ugh. I guess we'll see.
Over Managing! Mariano should never IBB anyone, this is ridiculous. Absurd. Makes no sense. I don't get it. 分かりません。
tried to Maddux him
Exhale. Alright nervous for Friday. lol....
Ok, ignore that one. Go Go Mo!
O.K. Homer and pie.
Yeah, it's just bad tactics. I mean, I knew he'd get Longname, but it's just bad.
Does this mean we see Paplefuck?
Alright, time for pie.
Again, we are in agreement. I *despise* that chant.
The ugh is what are we going to pitch now if we don't score. I want this game worse than I should.
Hm, wrong move, I think. Should go to Papelbon.
Mo didn't get that strike one call to Tex.
.338 OBP for Teix this year..not so good.
I'm like Mattpat on this. If we win, I'll be really pleased; if we lose, I'll be over it very quickly.
Well Boston obviously doesn't suck. They're a very talented team. I'm still waiting for a handy replacement chant, though.
Love the shift! For the next ten seconds.
He throws hard. He really does.
Great AB by Teix, whatever the result.
I forgot Bard only threw two pitches last inning. So, leaving him in was smart, of course.
Nice. Here we go.
Mattpat, avert your eyes, please.
what a great ab for tex!
Nicely done Tesh!
Alright, pinch-stand there?
Or is Golson going?
This is good. Now Bard can't concentrate.
Yeah, it's driving him nuts. Bard is very nervy.
Bah. Steal, then swing.
Not ideal. Not terrible, but not ideal.
Yeah, that was the ideal result.
how bout stealing 3rd?!
Pie for Jesus!
ok, jesus - nail them to the cross!
Yep. Smart. THAT is a smart IBB.
Oh, baby, it MUST be time to praise Jesus, right?
What would be MORE perfect than Jesus getting pied tonight?
Oh, FUCK you Sox ...
the kid's first IBB
ok, laird - win the game!
Oh, very classy. This is cool. (I would have gone to A-Rod.)
Let's go Jorge!
Me too! But what respect for Jesus already!
Wonder what inning Jorgie thinks this one is. ; )
ok, cool. win the game, po!!!
I think he knows this time!
Posada getting the winning hit in his last regular season game at Yankee Stadium, that's what!
There's an empty base. Hmmm. I wouldn't be shocked if Jorgie walks.
Now it's a certainty.
This is just bizarre...
Just loving the pressure on Boston.
ph w/ martin?
I would, yes. Or with A-Rod!
Pinch-hit Jorge but they'll let Romine bat? Not sure I get that..no Jeter or A-Rod?
wait. who was supposed to be up - romine or nunez?
we've got a-rod and jeter on the bench. russell, too...
here comes papelbitch.
I mean, this is like the most meaningless, yet most intense moments of the whole season.
"Sometimes pressure cracks pipes, sometimes it creates diamonds". Michael Kay, everyone!
Ummm. Sticking with Romine??? Why? Don't get it.
 uh, yeah. that.
When The Binder speaks, Girardi listens ...
Can't Papelbon just throw it past him? I doubt Romine could hit a pitch even down the middle.
Man, Girardi is loving this, huh? More than Tito, for sure!
regardless of what happens, i can't believe a-rod's not pinch hitting. or jeter. or martin.
I feel like telling the kid to choke up!
Even if we don't win this game, it's wonderful just making the Sox and their fans sweat their balls off
Yeah. What else could have happened there, really?
total fucking bollocks.
that was total bullshit, girardi. fuck you.
Le sucke ...
Fuck. I would have loved to see A Rod there, but all he seems to be missing is the cabana over there. He has not looked at all like someone who has a remote chance of going into this game.
alright people, i'm starving. heading out for a coupla slices.
enjoy the pie!
Had pitches to hit, took good swings, and...got beat.
It's clear, Alex, Derek and Russell will not play tonight.
Damn, you can get slices in Hotlanta? I'm dying for a real slice..closest thing here is Sbarro and now Domino's "Brooklyn Style" pizza...not exactly perfect but it has to suffice.
Oh boy, Raul Valdes!
Hey, at least it's not Aaron Laffey ...
Bud Selig on the hot line to Cashman. "You must give Boston every chance to win tonight".
Cashman to Girardi, " Leave the rookie in to hit against Paps, we can use the excuse that Martin was too dinged to catch the second game at all if it goes to extras".
Selig to Fox, "We will make sure the Red Sox are in the PS. Charge full rate for spots"
I don't get that Romine AB though. Why pinch hit with Jorge, going for the win and then let Romine face Papelbon, who he has no chance against?
 Yeah, but why?
Yeah, he had 2 good hacks at strike 1 and strike 2.
Didn't come through, but wasn't over matched.
Jeter hauls that in.
Valdes tastes like capitulation.
Laffey on the PS roster is the most absurd thing ever uttered in that booth - which, I mean...
yeah man. there's a really good pizza joint here. good slices, most of the time, and a cool place.
i hate the leadoff single to a fast guy.
NO reason to let romine bat there. none.
Thanks for the out, Tito.
I don't hate the guy coming in at all, but man, he's been seeming like the designated HR thrower recently.
Wade as in Givin-Up-The-Game-Winnung-RBI Wade
I may have to stop by Sbarro for a slice on my way out later..sigh..
You know the Orioles will go all out the next three, but they stink so Boston still a good chance to make it through..
Cory's great. He'll get 'em, no problem.
A-Gon is out for Thor, right?
Our win expectancy is 54% here.
I don't know how Dusty McPony doesn't fall down when he swings.
I'd chew my right arm off for a quality NY-style slice ...
NESN announcer got very excited.
Is it time for pie?!?!?!?
I WANT PIE!
You can't get a real slice in LA? No transplanted NYer opened a joint? Man..you must REALLY like the weather out there...
He uses hidden stakes driven into the batter's box, like in The Great Brain...
I don't like LA, but you really can't complain about the food. :-)
Wow! Hey yeah! I loved that! Tug-o-war. Utah. Man, that brings me back.
That tag earlier in the game sapped whatever virility the Pony had.
, [286} I smell a business opportunity in Tokyo, and wherever Cult lives.
Me too!! I recently bought a copy to read to Jazz Jr!! Love the one when Tom goes on the steam engine to SLC. :)
 In LA?
I just need to point out what a fucking spaz Eduardo Nunez was in the top of the inning
Food in LA is GREAT. Easily one of the best food cities in the world.
Hate to bring this up, but how many time have we heard "Granderson out on strikes" this year?
Okay, well, let's see Papelbon blow one of those heaters past Rob. Try.
How about another one?
I love it when allegedly serious people say "foiled"
Hey! That's not how it's supposed to go!
 165 times?
Now we're past our good hitters. The Sox are also out of good pitchers, though, so maybe a pinch hit something-or-other...
, I knew that would resonate with at least a few of us on here.
Cone makes such a great point about the splitter that starts over the middle of the plate. I don't think in a million years I could hold off on swinging at a pitch that starts centered like that.
It's a great point because anything off to one side or the other is completely different.
Win expectancy: 62% (with two out and Drew batting). Seems high, doesn't it?
Papelbon is going to come back out! Interesting. This is a playoff game for them, I guess.
Wade to go!!!
Oh, that's bad
That's too much by 50, IMO.
I wonder if Francona remembers there *is* a tomorrow no matter what
Is Granderson's hitting high on your list of worries?
Papelbon is making himself millions of dollars tonight.
Kay says, Peter comes before Paul!
He's been impressive all year. Stopped relying only on the heater. Wonder if the Mets make him an offer?
But that's correct! Peter, Paul & Mary, no?
Aaron Laffey is up.
 Oh, joy.
Anyone know how many walk-off wins we've had this year? Doesn't seem to be mwny
Well, Mary is dead, or else presumably you'd have to pay her too.
If he is bringing in Laffey, which I think he is, so help me fucking G--.
That guy seems like as nice a fellow as you can find, but dammit, he should have been taken away from Girardi three weeks ago.
Just fucking throw the bats and gloves on the field and forfeit, instead. Fuck that bullshit.
Probably right. Can't get too outraged if it rids us of Laffey though
That looked a little better off the bat.
I forgot that the Red Sox hitters go to sleep in extra innings. That's helpful. Also, no A-Gon.
Kay: "Joe's managing this one like he REALLY needs it." Bringing in Laffey is a sign of that?
Fuck fuck fuck - two more batters of Wade against lefty righty guy with twelve fucking arms is better than Laffey. Fuck.
Argh this feels like wasting so much valuable time thanks to this ridiculousness. Fucking Laffey. Argh.
 And in.
Oh, joy ...
 Overwhelming platoon advantage against Saltalamalamacchia.
Glad I wasn't the only one who caught that ...
It's a sign he wants my brain to explode. But it's too tired to do anything but mutter discontentedly.
No one has ever referred to bringing in Aaron Laffey as "managing a game like he needs it."
Good job, Aaron.
Laffey gives up a hit, that's shocking. 65 hits in 50 IP.
At least I'm getting chores done this morning..
They do that very well.
Hey, Robbie remembered to CATCH that one this time ...
Just end this thing.
My "point" remains - all that involved was hoping for some insanely lucky shit.
But that was some kind of miracle!
Yes, that salt and pepper mullet is a good look.
Alright, I'm ready to praise Jesus, how about you guys???
Please, Jesus, end this.
And speaking of miracles... heeeeeere's Jesus!
There's yer miracle right there!
Too fucking stupid. Pathetic. God, that pisses me off.
Man, Romine had a good pass at that last one.
Austin Romine is not going to hit a 97mph fast ball. It just isn't going to happen. It wasn't happening against Papelbon, it isn't happening against Morales.
Strike zone high and wide or is that just Gameday making it look that way?
Looked like a strike. Close enough anyways. But RIYank is right, Romine is not hitting a 97mph heater.
I'm getting hungry now..
What's that annoying "You Suck" chant going on in the background?
Really? He looked out.
Nah, can't tell.
Yeah, he was out. Huh.
He looked out to me, too. Unless McClellan thinks he was pulled off the bag or something.
You fucking hack ass piece of shit.
I'll say it again - in seven years of umping endless softball games, I never missed A SINGLE CALL AT FIRST BASE.
There is no difference in the speed of players or throws or anything like that. You can make that call or you can't (iow, you are not an ump).
If you can't be in the right spot to make that call, if you can't get that call right, GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE BUSINESS.
It is INEXCUSABLE.
This is the match-up I wasn't looking forward to!
GODDAMN FUCKING GARBAGE BULLSHIT CALL.
FUCK YOU, MCCLELLAN.
Don Orsillo was very excited by that long fly.
He was out by about 2 feet (hand to bag).
k, i'm back.
the pizza was awesome!
game is on espn radio.
joe's ejected? that's about 4 or 5 innings late. can we go back and pinch hit martin for romine?!
Joe ejected over a bad call at first. That's how Pedroia got on.
i was able to get 880 in the car on the way to the pizza joint (but not on the way back). sterling said that baseball wasn't predictable. he really did. : o
 was the little fucker out?
Laffey's pick-off move is pathetic.
 He was.
But it's all okay, because Thor's might hammer went limp!
hey, he got 5 bigs outs for us. yay!
 i miss andy.
Yeah. And next month we'll miss him more, I bet.
Curtis and Rob, both, so Tito leaves in Morales. However, Morales is going to suck.
ok, now that i've had dinner, i'm ready for dessert.
sounds like the little midget fucker did good.
Fuck, that was Robbie's pitch.
Oh, sorry. Yes, hot shot by Granderson, Pedroia dives to his left into the hole, snags it, throws Curtis out.
Come on, Rob. Focus!!!
yeah, the espn radio guys basically said it was the greatest play evah and that he doesn't care what inning it is, he plays harder than ty cobb and wants it more than pete rose. oh, and that he should be inducted to cooperstown this offseason.
Why isn't Jones pinch hitting here?
 Or A-Rod. It's a complete mystery.
it's a good thing the yankees and shit sox haven't played a lot of baseball today.
 yeah, seriously. this is ridiculous.
we have sooo many good hitters on the bench!
Oh, that's why. Because Golson knows how to walk against Morales!
Let's go Swish.
how 'bout a squeeze?!
Time for some serious Grit.
I bet he walks. I bet. Watch this.
 With two out??
The NESN crew was convinced he would bunt.
yeah, i know. but brett would beat it out!
how bout bunting with 2 strikes & 2 outs! ; )
Can we PLEASE win this fucking game?
Thelarmis, ball three to Brett was almost wild -- Salty jumped up to grab it.
This game is going to be way over five hours.
goddamn motherfucker. : /
Swish and Gardy. You guys fail.
Hey, look. It's Aaron Laffey.
Why is McDonald going to bat for Drew???
More Aaron Laughie? Tee Hee.
Oh you have got to be fucking kidding me. Having dodged the two of six roulette bullets of Laffey, you opt for the three bullets of Proctor???
Are you fucking serious?
Ayala is Ayala but Proctor is about to give up a MAMMOTH home run.
And not pinch hitting Jones - arghhhhh.
My rant on f'ing Proctor is awaiting moderation. He is going to serve up a dinger. Because he sucks.
oh no, proctor???
oh look at that, proctor gives up a hit. i'm shocked!
oh, and it's ty fucking scutaro.
vey iz mir
fuck you, proctor.
tell me again why scott fucking proctor is on my fucking team and pitching against the fucking shit sox in september.
Unfuckingbelievable. I told you it would be MAMMOTH.
If those motherfuckers do something, they're going to point to this bullshit - and fucking Scott Proctor
Why did we resurrect Everyday Scott Proctor again?
i fucking hate you, scott proctor.
you fucking SUCK at pitching. you suck. and i hate you.
get the fuck off my team. just retire...
Well is appears that Proctor is the surrender pitcher. I guess somebody has to be...
What a waste of time.
[401 No points for predicting that one.
Well done Joe G, give away the game to Boston after all these innings.
FUCKING SCOTT PROCTOR!!!!
How fucking predictable was that?
Anyone but that fucking warmed over corpse. Holy fucking shit you found him at a G-d damn cemetery, what the fuck did you think was going to happen???
Why the fuck did we watch this fucking piece of shit???
Fuck you Scott Proctor (new website name)
Not even credit for predicting it would be *mammoth*?
No, I suppose that was like predicting my ass is going to be chapped when we lose this game.
What fucking horseshittery.
Joe Maddon should fly to New York, punch everyone involved in that decision to let warmed over death pitch there, and then fly back for the games. Bull fucking shit.
I started watching this game to kill time until the Steelers game. They eked out a W and this one drags on. Holy smokes!
I feel like was just examined by the Protor(ologist). Fuggin stink finger.
Fucking snozzberry again. Fuck him. Bollocks!
I am so fucking angry, it's ridiculous. And whose fucking bright idea was it to pick up that bag of horse shit?
He's fucking DONE. He was fucking DONE when he left here. He's still fucking DONE.
- infinite internets for proctologist.
Just inexplicable. Playing to win the whole damn game, THEN bring in Scott Proctor? TOTALLY predictable that he would give up runs. Why don't the beat guys ever question JoeyJoeJoe about his odd moves?
shit sox get to beat up on the boids and make the playoffs. i really really really wanted to keep them out of the postseason...
I'm disconsolate. Why the fuck couldn't someone have warned me that this wasn't just going to be horse shitting around without certain guys even having a prayer of coming in, but that five hours later this bullshit was what was in the cards? Why?
i think we stopped playing to win, when romine was allowed to bat with the bases loaded.
oh, and not having anyone to warm up when nova was clearly running out of gas and getting hit hard.
This is unfucking fathomable. Why would you ever pitch that fucking piece of shit? Why?
fuck you, gi joe.
fuck you, shit sox.
The amount of bullshit that is going to come out of that part of the country is going to be insufferable x infinity.
And you pitched Scott Fucking Proctor instead of say - Hector Noesi - who is actually FUCKING GOOD. Why? I can't stop saying WHY?
yeah, noesi. good call! that's *exactly* who shoulda been in there.
total fucking bollocks.
well, go Oreos!!!
He's even a multiple innings type of pitcher!
What unfathomable bunch of fucking ridiculousness could ever spit out Scott Proctor as the answer to anything other than "how to perform a self-administered shotgun castration"????
This loss now feels big, when it did not matter 2 hours ago. Allowing the possible resurrection of the Red Sox in the playoffs might be the stuff of nightmares.
And in choose your own adventure - let's flip to the Scott Proctor page was actually the brain trust's decision. That page be full of monsters, ye fucking retards.
I wish we'd kept Lance Pendleton instead of Scotty.
Pendleton was called up when rosters expanded, but didn't get to play a single game. He was DFA'd a few days later, and Houston claimed him off waivers.
I don't get it. Houston took Pendleton via Rule 5 last December. They couldn't keep him on the roster, but were willing to trade for him. The Yanks refused, and Houston returned him. Now they have him for free. And we have the ghost of Everyday Scott Proctor.
Fucking Scott Proctor.
There's NO excuse.
Between that and the mis-cue with Nova in the 7th and the various bullshit non-decisions on the pinch-hitting front, this one's on JoeyJoeJoe.
Shite - post is actually reasonably good, but it's awaiting moderation : (
Ah, didn't look like he was playing to win IMHO. In fact, it looked like he was playing to lose. Using Ramiro "Should Not Be In The Majors" Pena to pinch run and then leaving him in the game for 2 mutherfarging ABs with A-Rod collecting splintersm. WTF, Joe!
