Million Dollar Movie

Here’s a slept-on classic:

Sori-Gone-O

As expected, Rafael Soriano has opted out of his contract and is now a free agent.

I think we’re going to need a bigger boat.

Just had to share this Halloween outfit with you.

Stand Tall (or Don’t Stand At All)

Man, it’s just been surreal the past few days here in New York. I didn’t have the energy or the inclination to blog about anything but the storm but today I’m going to try to get back to some kind of routine.

We’re safe here in the Bronx and we’re damn fortunate for that. So many others have suffered.

Hope you are all okay.

A good place for Sandy links: Kottke.

The Day After

We’re okay here in our part of the Bronx. The same, obviously, can’t be said for thousands of other brothers and sisters. The power outage at NYU Medical was and is a nightmare.

Hope you are all okay.

When The Lights Go Out

We’ve still got power at 9:30 but it’s not much fun waiting this out right about now. But we’re okay. Hope you are too.

This One’s For Real, I Already Bought the Dream

Steely Dan isn’t for everyone. But I dig them and I really like this nerd-a-thon with them taking about the making of Aja.

Whoosh

It’s raining and the wind is furious here just before 9 a.m. Supposed to only get worse over the next day.

Hope everyone is safe.

Rollin’ In

We’re bracing ourselves for some serious shit around these parts over the next couple of days. No idea if we’ll be going to work tomorrow, if we’ll have power, Internet connection, or what. In the meantime, there’s a Whirled Serious game tonight as the Tigers look to stay alive.

Watch this to keep your spirits up:

Stay safe, y’all.
