So Gary Sanchez gets a four-game suspension and Romine gets two. That sounds about right. Alex Wilson gets four and the instigator of it all, Miggy Cabrera, is nailed with a week. Naturally, he served up a hot dish of Crybaby Souffle to reporters after he got the news.

Well, that was nice, a 13-4 beatdown. Gary Sanchez hit a pair of home runs—the first one was a whiffle ball BOMB—and after 4 productive at bats (3 walks and an RBI base hit) Aaron Judge was yanked, thus ending his strike out streak. Done and done. He can start a new one tonight. Last night he was smiling. And so were we.

The Yanks limp to Detroit after dropping the weekend series in Boston (5-1 was the sorry final on Sunday afternoon). They hope recover against a mediocre Detroit team before returning home to face the Mariners, Indians, and Red Sox.

The Yanks jumped on Chris Sale early—thanks to a 3-run homer by Tyler Austin—and hung on for dear life to walk away with a 4-3 win.

This afternoon, Sonny Gray is on the bump for the Yanks. Here’s the reason you were traded for, my friend. Go git ‘em.

The Red Sox keep reminding the Yanks that the Baby Bombers are not yet ready for Prime Time. The bullpen rightfully gets the blame for blowing a 6-3 lead but watching it live, I got the sense that the Yanks blew it when Aaron Judge whiffed with the bases loaded and just one out in the 7th. He had a couple of good pitches to hit, put good swings on them, but fouled the balls off instead of putting them in play. Because that’s the way it goes and that’s the way it’s been going for Judge, who has now whiffed in more consecutive games than just about anybody ever.

Then the pen was horseshit, too—Aroldis Chapman looked especially mortal again.

9-6 was the sorry-ass final.

Tonight gives Chris Sale, aka Dr. Doom.

The Yanks were cruising last night and but for a mortifying mop-up performance by Bryan Mitchell it would have been an easy win (had to feel bad for the kid). They hung on for a 7-5 win because even on short notice, Dellin Betances is unfair when his curveball is on.

This weekend takes our boys to Boston for a tough three-game set against the Sox.

I gotta bad feeling about this.

All the same, I will be root-root-rootin’ our boys on.

The count was 3-2 as it so often is with Aaron Judge. Top of the 9th and here comes the breaking pitch, darting out of the strike zone, and there goes Judge swinging and missing as he sets the mark for consecutive games with a strike out for a non-pitcher. On the other hand, earlier in the game he a ball so far that it reached the third deck, and it took awhile for everyone to wrap their head around what they’d just seen.

Oh, and the Yanks won—dancing around a competent performance by junk-ballin’ Jamie Garcia—5-3.

Is it too much to ask for a sweep? Perhaps. Baseball has a way of punishing you when you ask for such things. But it is not too much to ask Luis Severino to go out there, not mince around and put heads to bed.

Sonny Gray was terrific, Jacob deGrom, less so. And Aroldis Chapman—who came up gimpy—did not look good once again but the Yanks held on for a 5-4 win.

A few loud crack of the bats and we were finally able to let out a sigh of relief. The Yanks didn’t hit much but a trio of late homers—Judge, Hicks, Sanchez—along with a stellar job from the bullpen was enough to down the Mets, 4-2.

Tonight offers a good match-up—young Sonny Gray, looking for his first win with the Yanks (and a little help from his offense), against the formidable Jacob deGrom.

Luis Severino and the Yanks took one on the chin on Saturday and then last night, the Yanks held their own against Chris Sale and took the lead in the 8th, before Aroldis Chapman gave it up in the 9th—and to be fair he surrendered a home run on a 102 mph pitch. The Yanks blew it in the 10th and dropped 2 of 3 to their rivals.

Our boys just ain’t good enough right now.

What a frustrating weekend it turned out be. And if you look at the glass half-full, got to figure the Yanks will go out and fuggin’ lose 3 of 4 to the Mets this week, right?

Ugh.

Our boys looked dead in the water again last night for 7 innings. Ass dead, dead ass. Then in the 8th, down 3-0, Aaron Hicks hijacked an inside pitch and launched it just fair down the right field line for a 2-run home run. A rally of walks and base hits followed and the Yanks had a 5-3 lead.

Not happy to leave well enough alone, Aroldis Chapman promptly walked the bases loaded to start the 9th. His ass got saved when a fly ball out to Hicks left turned into a double play thanks to aggressive base-running by our old chum Nunie. When the final out was made we all breathed a sigh of relief. What a huge win, especially with Dr. Doom, Chris Sale looming tomorrow night, all of a sudden the Yanks have a chance to steal the series with a win today.

I know Drew Pomeranz has been damn good this year but Luis Severino needs to act like the Ace we hope he can be, especially with Tanaka joining C.C. on the DL.

Wow, what a crappy night for the Yanks who lost the game (4-0) and the series to the damn Jays.

Now, they are back at home for 3 against the Red Sox and Boston is on a roll. The Yanks are not. Let’s hope they can turn this around.

Tuesday night in Toronto was no bueno for our Yanks. Josh Donaldson hit a pair of homers off C.C. and our boys left a million guys on base in a dispiriting, 4-2 loss.

It was not easy, there were a lot of strikeouts—on both sides—but the Yanks were able to survive a close one in Cleveland last night, 2-1. Aroldis Chapman benefitted for a pair of nifty defensive plays in the 9th, and whew, the Yanks got a win.

Let’s hope they get another one today and escape Ohio with a split.

Man, oh, man, was that ever frustrating. Hours of rain delays and all the Yanks had to show for it was a 2-0 loss. And on a getaway day, to boot. I was muttering aloud by the end of it.

Welp, they have a tough few weeks ahead of them and they begin with a formidable four-game task in Cleveland. Tonight gives Kluber, who is no picnic. On the good foot, Sonny Gray will make his Yankee debut and we’re all looking forward to that. The Indians are good, let’s hope the Yanks find a way to hold there own and then some.

Meanwhile, Sonny Gray will start Thursday and Jaime Garcia goes on Friday. New players! Fun. The Yanks beat the Tigers on Monday night, 7-3. Aaron Judge homered, Clint Frazier tripled, and Miguel Cabrera did a lot of barking, an old dog on a lousy team.
