home run derby
Robbie brought his dad along again. That's cool. I thought he might have Hughes throw to him.
My brother is there with my middle nephew, who's a good ball player himself. Got free tickets through work...
Céspedes is killin' it!
Hey, Bryce. Get of my lawn! And put a cap on while you're at it! ; )
A Mo interview during Cano's ab. Praise be to Mo.
Robbie didn't have it. 4 homers. Save it for the 2nd half.
Best comment I heard in a LONG time. Hughes .... heh heh heh ... man. Got me laughing (and sighing). He sure can give up the long ball.
 Agreed. Hysterical!
Deadspin has some sad reporting on the reaction to all the Spanish interviews..sigh..
(4) What was with Bryce's hair? Not watching here.
Just a crazy ass gelled up faux hawk. I wish I didn't know what faux hawk
means. : )
Hmm...lot of pun potential with 'faux hawk' but I think will pass. :)
It's crazy that Bryce's back foot is off the ground when he makes contact with the ball. Some national game showed a bunch of slow mos and then a clip of Roberto Clemente doing the same thing. Quite an approach.
Good on Céspedes. He has some scary freakin' power.
One Question: Why isn't Céspedes playing outfield for the NY Yankees.
They had a shot.
The list grows:
I can't remember why Chris Davis didn't sign with the NYY when he was first drafted. Not a high enough round? Wanted to play JuCo first?
I can't get upset about missing Darvish. They reasonably worried that he was going to be Daisuke. And A-Jax isn't very good, so that doesn't bother me either. Same with Jesus. Mark Melancon is a decent relief pitcher but not in the same class as D-Rob or Claiborne.
I do wish they had raided the piggy bank for Cespedes. Goddam A-Rod.
Dunk. Punt, Pass and Kick. Silliness that bespoils the game. People come out for it. Nothing better to do with their time. Read a book. Help fix the world. But don't watch this nonsense.
and damn Hank Steinbrenner while you're at it. The one executive decision he makes and screws it and the whole team up royally for years.
