How About Another Win?

Our hero A—aron Judge is still down in the dumps but the rest of the boys got on the good foot last night as the Yanks pounded the Jays, 11-5.

Sonny Gray makes his second start for the Bombers tonight. Looking for a series win heading into the big serious with the Sox this weekend.

Just Passing Through

Tuesday night in Toronto was no bueno for our Yanks. Josh Donaldson hit a pair of homers off C.C. and our boys left a million guys on base in a dispiriting, 4-2 loss.

More tonight with Masahiro on the hill.

Never mind the summertime blues:

Where the Wild Things Are

It was not easy, there were a lot of strikeouts—on both sides—but the Yanks were able to survive a close one in Cleveland last night, 2-1. Aroldis Chapman benefitted for a pair of nifty defensive plays in the 9th, and whew, the Yanks got a win.

Let’s hope they get another one today and escape Ohio with a split.

Walk Tall

Enough with this horseshit three-game losing streak. Time for a win.

Hit the Bricks Pal and Beat It

Man, oh, man, was that ever frustrating. Hours of rain delays and all the Yanks had to show for it was a 2-0 loss. And on a getaway day, to boot. I was muttering aloud by the end of it.

Welp, they have a tough few weeks ahead of them and they begin with a formidable four-game task in Cleveland. Tonight gives Kluber, who is no picnic. On the good foot, Sonny Gray will make his Yankee debut and we’re all looking forward to that. The Indians are good, let’s hope the Yanks find a way to hold there own and then some.

Never mind that nut banging on the drum:

Under the Hood

Yanks dropped a close one to the Tigers and the Red Sox won a close one against the Indians moving Boston a half-game back into first place. Today gives a matinee at the Stadium. Warm, muggy, summery.

Summer Harvest

I feel bad for the kid Fowler that came up, hurt himself, then gets traded. Hope he’s okay.

And I will be rooting for him in the future. Good luck, Dude!

Meanwhile, Sonny Gray will start Thursday and Jaime Garcia goes on Friday. New players! Fun. The Yanks beat the Tigers on Monday night, 7-3. Aaron Judge homered, Clint Frazier tripled, and Miguel Cabrera did a lot of barking, an old dog on a lousy team.

Back at it tonight. Keep it moving’ boys, more than plenty of work left to be done.

Never mind the standings:

The Son Also Rises

The Yanks have traded for Sonny Gray.

Summer Fun

The Yanks keep rolling along. They got another win yesterday—Brett Gardner drove home the clinching run with a base hit in the bottom of the 9th—as their hot streak continues. That makes us happy. Good to be happy on a Sunday.

They also got themselves a new pitcher.

It is sunny today and lovely.

Boom Bip

The Yanks hit a bunch of loud home runs last night—solo shots from Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge (of the Winfield line drive variety), and a 3-run bomb by Clint Frazier. Combined with Masahiro Tanaka’s masterful 14-K performance, it was more than enough for the Yanks to cruise to a 6-1 win, and bump the Red Sox out of first place.

More this afternoon on a cool, gray summer day in July. A kid named Caleb Smith gets the start for the Bombers. He’ll probably need a mess-o-help from the offense.

Never mind the chill:

Cloudy With a Chance of Homers

The Yanks blew a 3-0 lead, the Rays squandered a 5-3 lead, and our boys stole a victory when Brett Gardner hit a solo home run in extra innings. Sure, it was not pretty, but against the Rays, sheeeeeeeeet, we’ll take it.

Our man Tanaka is on the hill tonight.

A loss on Monday night was followed by a win last night in Minnesota. And then some news: Todd Frazier and David Robertson are headed to the Yanks.

Always did like that David Robertson.

Long Day’s Journey Into Night

Are you kidding me? Down 1-0 in the 9th, the Yanks tie the game on a Matt Holliday home run and it takes them 16 innings to outlast the Sox, 4-1.

And today gives a day-night doubleheader.

Summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime.

Never mind the bollocks:

Yes, We Have No Bananas

The Yanks opened the second half slipping on the banana peel in the 9th as Aroldis Chapman blew a lead and the game.

And Dr. Doom—Chris Sale—on the hill today. With A.J. Pierzynski on the broadcast. This is going to be a long day.

What did I miss?

The Home Run Derby? The All-Star Game? Big Mike possibly done for the season?

And what could be a 4-game beatdown up in Boston this weekend?

Anything else?

Part Two begins now.

The Lost Weekend

Well, that sucked. The Yanks won a laughter on Friday night but then Dellin Betances and Aroldis Chapman blew Saturday’s game (spoiling a nice debut for Clint Frazier) followed by yesterday’s beat down. No, that wasn’t how it was supposed to go at all.

Right now, the Astros are the Man. And the Yanks ain’t.

Our boys are back home where it is Hotter than July—wait, it is July. Those damn Jays.
