Tough weekend in San Diego was salvaged with a win yesterday—highlighted by some nice memories for Mark Teixeira.
Yanks in Chicago to face the White Sox this afternoon.
Happy 4th!
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Well, that was a ton of fun last night, right? A big come-from-behind win. Homers in the 9th, John Sterling extra excitable. And why not? There might not be many of these this season. For one night, our guys gave us a reason to smile—9 to 7 was the final. Then, this afternoon, another walk-off—on a passed ball of all things—and more funski with a 2-1, win. Pineda was great and the Big Three were tough, tough, tough.
Bombers head out to…San Deigo tonight…because baseball is weird. Okay, so the Padres. Whatever.
Never mind the sunshine:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Well, that didn’t work. C.C. didn’t deserve the result, he was a pro.
Yanks try to avoid the sweep tonight. Tanaka Time.
Never mind the late night airplane ride:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Kick somebody in the ass instead.
In this case maybe how about the Rangers.
Never mind the hangover:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Well, say what you want about this team—and there isn’t all that much to say—at least those three guys in the bullpen are tough, tough, tough. They nailed down a 2-1 win yesterday and that’s how it rolls for the Bombers this year. I don’t know about you, but I hope the Yanks move all the pieces they can—Miller, Beltran, Chapman—if they get the chance. Sell high, you guys.
More this afternoon. Hot, hot, hot in the Bronx. Yanks looking to Nathan Eovaldi to pitch deep into the game.
Never mind the cold compress:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

It’s a good number for me—I lived on 103rd Street when I was little—and it’s a good on the radar gun, especially when Mr. Chapman is on the hill. The dude was throwing vapor last night as the Yanks beat the Twins, 5-3.
Ridiculously beautiful day here in the Bronx. Nice afternoon for some ball.
Never mind the suntan lotion:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Hey you guys. Sorry I haven’t been around. Busy, busy and will catch you up with links shortly and more of a Hi-Howarya. Really nice comeback win the other day, right?
In the meantime, it’s summerishly lovely in New York as the Yanks host the Twinkies.
Never mind the distractions:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
The Yanks scored seven runs in the final three innings yesterday, survived a shaky performance by Aroldis Chapman and hung on for a 7-6 win.
Happy Father’s Day to you all.
Never mind the neckties:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Yanks Smash, we smile. Love that Tanaka, too.
This afternoon, more:
Never mind the sunshine:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
I mean, really? Cool, the Yanks beat up a bad Angels team and sure, they beat the always perturbingly difficult Detroit Tigers in game one of that series, but then Ace turned back into Dexter and got waxed for the last three games. Meanwhile, body parts are flying every which-a-way and guys are doing everything they can to avoid the DL. Basically, it’s like they are supposed to be .500 regardless of how well or badly they do.
Well anyway, here is River Ave Blues with tonight’s lineup:
CF Jacoby Ellsbury
LF Brett Gardner
2B Starlin Castro
3B Chase Headley
SS Didi Gregorius
RF Aaron Hicks
1B Ike Davis
C Austin Romine
RHP Ivan Nova
So, never mind the lukewarm lemonade, Let’s Go Yanks!
Yeah, okay, so it wasn’t gonna last. Yanks took it on the chin last night but they’ll be back out there in the heat this afternoon.
Never mind the bomb pops:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
No real first baseman aside the Yanks have a damn good week. How about some more?
Never mind the return of summer (i.e. humidity):
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

What a fun win that was last night. Just when the Yanks were getting aced by an old junk-baller, too. McCann’s homer was tremendous (especially after hitting a homer foul the previous pitch) and Castro’s wasn’t half bad neither—mmm’ belly to belly, as John said.
And then Carlos with the game-winner.
Pretty cool, indeed.
Never mind the Halos:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Worth the wait? Hardly. A rain delay helped foul up a late-inning appearance by Aroldis Chapman as the Orioles came from behind to beat the Yanks, 3-1.
Grrrr-rumble.
Tonight, the Yanks host the Angels remember when they used to be a nemesis? Not so much these days, huh?
Ah, never mind the sun rays:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Ah, a plump 7-0 lead, cool. Sure, some of those runs came because fortune was on the Yankees’ side—ground balls scooting by the infielders, blooper falling in front of outfielders—but I wasn’t complaining.
Then, Nova stalled and the O’s came charging back and cut the lead to 7-6 over the course of a half-inning.
Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman then made like the studs they are, shutting the O’s down in the 8th and 9th, Alex Rodriguez added an RBI single and the Yanks escaped with an 8-6 win.
Ol’ C.C. is on the hill this afternoon.
Never mind those storm clouds:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
