Cubs, Cards followed by Mets, Dodgers.
Figure the Cards will win and the Mets too.
Never mind the foliage:
Let’s Go Base-ball!

Never mind the foliage:
Let’s Go Base-ball!
Man, what a turn that game took last night when Bartolo Colon came in the game, Howie Kendrick hit the ball hard, Daniel Murphy made a nice stab, and Chase Utley flattened Ruben Tejada, breaking the shortstop’s leg. And that was the for starters. When the smoke cleared, everything that could, did go wrong for the Mets as the Dodgers evened the series at one.
If this year’s NLDS series needed more juice–Cubs, Cards is so loaded–it’s got it for Game 3 tomorrow night in Queens with Matt Harvey going for the Mets. I say he shoves it up the Dodgers’ ass and I actually think the Mets will win the series. You know, Citified still needs to lose its October cherry. I think it’s primed to happen this week. I’d like to see Kershaw get another shot at it but my gut says the Mets find a way to win it at home.
The ALDS moves to Texas for Game 3. First, Royals are in Houston, later the Jays hope to save their season in Arlington.
Don’t really care who wins the first game–though, I’d like to see the Royals win the series; there’s nothing that I’ll root for more this fall than to see Texas win one more game against the Toronto. Hard to imagine the big, brash Jays going out quietly. They were already pissed in Game 2. I bet they romp tonight.
Anyhow, never mind the brisket:
Let’s Go Base-ball!
The Mets won Game 1 of the NLDS in L.A. last night and David Wright had one of the big hits.
Tonight, the visitor’s have Thor on the bump against Greinke the Great–both with the flowing blond locks and tremendous stuff.
Figure the Mets will win again but one never knows…
(Nice job by the Cubs evening their series vs. the Cards earlier.)
Never mind the sunset:
Let’s Go Base-ball!
Four games today, first one starts at 12:30:
Rangers vs. Jays
Astros vs. Royals
Cubs vs. Cardinals
Mets vs. Dodgers
Should be fun.

It’s Money-Earnin’ Masahiro on the hill tonight against that dart-throwing, horrendous-beard-havin’ Cy Young hopeful, Dallas Keuchel.
As per the intrepid Chad Jennings–once again, the King of Yankee bloggers–here’s the Yankee roster tonight:
Catchers: Brian McCann, John Ryan Murphy, Gary Sanchez
Infielders: Greg Bird, Dustin Ackley, Rob Refsnyder, Didi Gregorius, Chase Headley, Brendan Ryan
Outfielders: Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner, Carlos Beltran, Chris Young, Rico Noel, Slade Heathcott
Designated hitter: Alex Rodriguez
Starter: Masahiro Tanaka
Bullpen: Andrew Miller, Dellin Betances, Justin Wilson, Adam Warren, Bryan Mitchell, James Pazos, Ivan Nova, Luis Severino
And the lineup:
Brett Gardner CF
Chris Young LF
Carlos Beltran RF
Alex Rodriguez DH
Brian McCann C
Chase Headley 3B
Greg Bird 1B
Rob Refsnyder 2B
Didi Gregorius SS
I’m perfectly happy with Ellsbury sitting way he’s been playing.
Stay out of those double plays, boys, and you’ve got a chance. Masahiro, keep ’em in the park, baby.
It’s been a fun year and this is a likable team. Too bad they didn’t grow mustaches again for the occasion–my that seems like a long time ago now, doesn’t it? Yeah, they’ve looked like crap for most the past couple of months and especially lately. Nobody will be surprised if they go out like lambs, but man, wouldn’t it be great if they pulled this one out?
Never mind that sinking feeling that says they’re going to get smoked:
Let’s GO YANK-KEES!
Wouldn’t you know, the Yanks belly-flopped the double header yesterday in Baltimore. Lost the first one 9-2, and the second one, 4-3.
I mean, you just have to laugh. But nuts to that. They win today, they play at the Stadium on Tuesday night. Lose, and its hit the bricks pal and beat it.

Man, it doesn’t get any easier for our boys, who return to the Stadium with heavy hearts as the Yanks play the first game at home since Yogi died. The loss is deeper now that they’re home. So there’s that. And then, when the game starts, Chris Sale will be on the bump for the White Sox who regularly slings nastiness all night. Yanks have never hit the guy.
But who said it was supposed to be easy?
And maybe Big Mike will be dyno-mite–ya never know.

Never mind the nitpickin’:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
You have to think funny tonight, even if you’re also sad, because we’ve got Yogi in our thoughts and in our conversations. That’s a pretty good guy to have on the brain, don’t you think?
So let’s hope the Yanks win this one cause that’s another thing Yogi was about–winning. When it counted. Hardly anybody did it more.
Who the hell knows what to expect from Ivan Nova tonight. He looked lost last time out and now he’s got to face the Gashouse Gorillas. I mean, it really could be a long night. Guess that’ll just give the announcers more time to talk about Yogi. Might be worth listening to John and Suzyn tonight, come to think of it. That’ll be boozy n schmoozy.
Never mind the eulogizing, (there’s a game to play):

Yanks turn to ‘Lil Luis to come up big. In his short time in the majors this’ll be Severino’s third start against the Blue Jays. Last one didn’t work out too well for him or the Bombers.
Here’s hoping he bounces back this evening.

And you thought tonight was going to be hype because of Matt Harvey. Well, the Jays lost this afternoon so this is a big one for the Yanks, no matter who starts for the Mets. Yanks win, they’ll go up to Toronto two-and-a-half out. (Regardless, they’ll be without their Ace.)
